Stranger Things is a sci-fi thriller series created by Ross and Matt Duffer (better known as the Duffer Brothers), and the first season was released on Netflix on July 15, 2016.
The show was a smash-hit right from the go, enthralling viewers with its dark mysteries and 1980s vibes. The massive popularity of the show resulted helped launch the careers of several young actors and actresses, leading to lifetimes of fame and fortune.

Many fans are curious about the smallest of details surrounding the cast, leading to questions like “How tall is the cast of Stranger Things?”. Luckily, we have the answers.
While it can be hard to pinpoint the exact height of the Stranger Things cast, we’ve done our homework and checked multiple sources, including IMDb, personal Instagram accounts, and more.

Due to the magic of camera framing, you might be surprised to learn the height of the cast of Stranger Things. From the most petite of the bunch to the (relatively) towering tall, this list details the heights of the Stranger Things Season 4 cast from shortest to tallest.
12. Priah Ferguson – Erica Sinclair – 5 feet (152 cm)
Priah Ferguson was born on October 1, 2006, and plays the educated yet snobby Erica Sinclair, the younger sister of Lucas Sinclair. Before appearing on Stranger Things, Priah appeared in shows like FX’s Atlanta and a few independent films.

Her character was first introduced in the second season of the show, but by the third season, she was granted more screen time and became one of the core members of the show.
Priah was cast in Stranger Things for season two, as her character Erica was mostly meant as a way to include other characters from Lucas’ (Caleb McLaughlin) family.
However, the character grew in popularity with each passing season, as fans adored her quick wit and hilarious remarks. Interestingly, since Priah looked significantly older between the third and fourth seasons, the costuming department for the show made an effort to “age down” her appearance.
11. Sadie Sink – Max Mayfield – 5 feet 3 inches (160 cm)
One of the youngest female cast members on the show, Sadie Sink, was born on April 16, 2002, and began her acting career early on in life.
In 2012, she took her talents to Broadway, where she portrayed the lead character Annie in the musical of the same name.
After continuing her work in stage plays and expanding to cable television, she auditioned for the role of Max Mayfield in Stranger Things and earned the part in late 2016.

As a new kid in town and the quiet step-sister of Billy Hargrove (Dacre Montgomery), Max Mayfield made her debut in Stranger Things season two, joining the core cast and making major ripples in the story.
For most of the show, she acts as the love interest for Lucas Sinclair, making some serious sacrifices along the way. For the majority of season four, Max Mayfield wears headphones and listens to a walkman music player.
According to Sadie Sink, she used approximately twelve different walkman players during filming and even broke a few before the prop team created a special styrofoam one for her to wear.
10. Millie Bobby Brown – Eleven – 5 feet 4 inches (162 cm)
Undoubtedly, the biggest star to come out of Stranger Things is Millie Bobby Brown, who stars as the ultra-quiet, telepathically powerful character “Eleven.”
Before starring in Stranger Things, the actress had small roles in shows like NCIS and Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, but her career skyrocketed in the years to come.

Since then, she has won several awards from prestigious groups, including the Screen Actor’s Guild, the Saturn Awards, and the Primetime Emmys.
Before the cast greatly expanded in subsequent seasons, Millie Bobby Brown was the major focus of Stranger Things, as her character Eleven was the key to the show’s mystery.
Despite the amount of pressure to perform, the Duffer Brothers have praised her professionalism in many interviews. Even at such a young age, she showed massive dedication to the character, as she actually shaved her head for the role.
9. Natalia Dyer – Nancy Wheeler – 5 feet 4 inches (162 cm)
Natalia Dyer was born on January 13, 1995, in Nashville, Tennessee, and started acting in her teenage years. She made her film debut in Hannah Montana: The Movie before taking up an interest in indie cinema, starring in the 2016 film I Believe in Unicorns.
Natalia got her big break when she was cast as Nancy Wheeler, the older sister of Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard), in the first season of Stranger Things.
At a screening of the fourth season in Germany, she posed next to her co-stars Tom Wlaschiha and Charlie Heaton. German actor Tom Wlaschiha, who plays Russian prison guard Dmitri “Enzo” Antonov, measures 6ft ½ in (184.2 cm).

While Nancy is more of a supporting character in the first few seasons, her importance grew with each season, quickly cementing her as a fan favorite.
Natalia brings a soft and caring touch to the show, especially when it comes to her relationship with Jonathan Byers (Charlie Heaton). It seems that the chemistry between these two far exceeds what’s shown on screen, as Natalia Dyer and Charlie Heaton officially started dating in 2019.
8. Gaten Matarazzo – Dustin Henderson – 5 feet 5 inches (165 cm)
Gaetano John Matarazzo III, better known as Gaten Matarazzo, is a 20-year-old actor who stars as Dustin Henderson in Stranger Things.
Like Sadie Sink (and a few other actors from the cast), Gaten got his start in the acting business by appearing in stage plays, including the seminal musical Les Miserables for its 25th-anniversary tour.
Interestingly enough, Gaten Matarazzo was the very first actor cast in Stranger Things, even before Finn Wolfhard and Millie Bobby Brown.

Gaten Matarazzo appears consistently throughout the first season of the show, as his character Dustin is part of the core group of kids who investigate the disappearance of their friend, Will Byers (Noah Schnapp).
Gaten and his on-screen counterpart both have cleidocranial dysplasia, a hereditary birth defect that often causes improper growth of the collarbone and teeth. Since his success on Stranger Things, Gaten continued with other projects and recently returned to Broadway to reinvigorate his love for the theater.
7. Caleb McLaughlin – Lucas Sinclair – 5 feet 8 inches (172 cm)
Caleb McLaughlin is another core member of the Stranger Things cast, portraying the affable and athletic Lucas Sinclair. Born on October 13, 2001, Caleb grew up in New York, where he studied dance and performing arts.
Instead of embracing television and commercials, Caleb first acted in operas and musicals, including the Broadway rendition of The Lion King. After appearing in a few television shows like Law & Order SVU and Unforgettable, Caleb was cast in Stranger Things in 2016.

In addition to his work as an actor, Caleb is a major advocate of having a positive outlook on life, leading uplifting social media campaigns. Interestingly, this ideology is often put forth by his character in Stranger Things, especially when he runs into tough situations.
It seems that Caleb is generally a loving person, as he already knew Sadie Sink and Gaten Matarazzo before filming Stranger Things, befriending them on the Broadway theater circuit.
6. Charlie Heaton – Jonathan Byers – 5 feet 8 inches (172 cm)
While Stranger Things features many American actors, Charlie Heaton is one of the few members of the cast hailing from England, where he was born on February 6, 1994. In the show, he portrays Jonathan Byers, the older brother of missing boy Will Byers in the first season.
As Jonathan’s mother, Joyce (Winona Ryder), struggles with potentially losing a son, he does his best to keep the family together and find his brother.
Given Charlie’s commendable performance on the show, you may be surprised to learn that he has no formal acting training or education.

Instead, Charlie mostly focused on performing music during his teenage years, even touring with the band Comanechi as their drummer.
Although he only started acting in commercials to earn some extra cash, Charlie gained a bit of popularity early on and was eventually cast as Jonathan Byers in the first round of auditions.
Together with Caleb McLaughlin, Charlie Heaton shows up in more episodes than the rest of the cast, appearing in 42 episodes across four seasons.
5. Maya Hawke – Robin Buckley – 5 feet 8 inches (172 cm)
Maya Hawke was born on July 8, 1998, and resided in New York for most of her childhood. Growing up, Maya suffered from dyslexia, which proved to be a challenge during school.
Because of this, she began attending schools with a more artistic approach to education, leading to her interest in acting.
After a brief stint in modeling early in her career, Maya made her acting debut in the Little Women miniseries in 2017 and was eventually added to the cast of Stranger Things for the third season in 2019.

In Stranger Things, Maya Hawke plays Robin Buckley, a friendly girl who works alongside Steve Harrington (Joe Keery) at an ice cream shop in the mall.
Over the course of the third and fourth seasons, Robin becomes more entrenched in the secrets of the show, eventually turning from a supporting character into one of the main cast members. Maya’s gift for acting is likely passed down from her two very famous parents – Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman.
4. Noah Schnapp – Will Byers – 5 feet 9 inches (175 cm)
Noah Schnapp is one of the most recognizable actors from Stranger Things, as he portrays Will Byers, a young boy whose disappearance is a key plot point in the first season.
This humble actor was born on October 3, 2004, in New York City and became interested in acting very early in his life. After participating in community theater, he was encouraged to try for a professional career at eight years old, eventually leading to his acting debut in the 2015 film Bridge of Spies.

Throughout the series, Will Byers is often brushed to the side, making the character feel alienated and alone. Coincidentally, Noah Schnapp received similar treatment in regard to his appearance in the show’s credits, as his name was not featured until the second season.
Luckily, Noah doesn’t seem to have any overt desire for massive fame, as he often puts more effort into selfless pursuits. Most recently, he launched a snack brand called “To Be Honest,” which focuses on sustainable, environment-friendly food sourcing.
3. Finn Wolfhard – Mike Wheeler – 5 feet 10 inches (177 cm)
Finn Wolfhard is another mega-popular actor that got his big break in Stranger Things but seems to have a habit of earning roles through unexpected means.
The actor, who hails from Canada and was born on December 23, 2002, got his first ever acting gig through the Craigslist website at 12 years old. After briefly appearing on the show Supernatural, Finn Wolfhard was cast in Stranger Things in 2016.

In the show, Finn Wolfhard plays Mike Wheeler, one of Will Byer’s best friends. Seen as the unspoken leader of the group, Mike rallies his other friends to search for Will and ends up stumbling upon Eleven in the forest.
Funnily enough, Finn got the part in Stranger Things with some significant luck, as he auditioned for the show through an open casting call. In order to make the casting deadline, he actually filmed his audition from his bed, as he was sick at the time.
2. Joseph Quinn – Eddie Munson – 5 feet 10 inches (177 cm)
One of the newest additions to the Stranger Things cast but also one of the most popular, Joseph Quinn was born in London, England, where he attended school at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
In the show, Joseph Quinn appears as Eddie Munson, the leader of a Dungeons & Dragons game group who is wrongfully accused of a local murder. Sporting a wild haircut and exuding youthful disregard, Eddie Munson quickly became a fan-favorite character.

After graduating from school in 2015, Joseph hopped between television and live theater and appeared in major shows like Game of Thrones.
However, his career didn’t truly take off until he was cast in Stranger Things in 2019, with filming to take place in 2021. Despite the eccentric and outspoken personality of his onscreen persona, Joseph Quinn is relatively quiet in real life and enjoys his privacy.
In fact, while several websites claim to know his birth year, Joseph has only ever confirmed that he was born on January 26. The general consensus is that he was born on January 26, 1994.
1. Joe Keery – Steve Harrington – 5 feet 11 inches (180 cm)
Joe Keery was born on April 24, 1992, and grew up in Newburyport, Massachusetts, where he slowly became interested in acting after his sister encouraged him to try out for the theater play at his high school.
After graduating, Joe had an insatiable hunger to perform, appearing in dozens of commercials, with his first film role in the 2015 indie film Henry Gamble’s Birthday Party.

In the show, Joe Keery plays Steve Harrington, the perpetual babysitter and guardian of the younger cast of characters.
Joe Keery is generally regarded as a remarkably kind and endearing person, which was actually a surprise for the writers of Stranger Things.
His character was initially written as a jerk and abuser, but after meeting the actor and realizing how likable he was, the Duffer Brothers changed the character’s story entirely.
In addition to acting, Joe Keery has also been a musician for most of his life and even toured with the band Post Animal from 2015 to 2019.
