On Wednesday, Halle Berry turned a year older. Proving she still has it, she flaunted her curves in see-through La Perla lingerie at the premiere of her new movie, The Union. However, the internet seemed split on her dress choice.

While conservatives believe that women should give up wearing skimpy, short dresses, and high heels once they turn 50, others argue that it all depends on the figure and shape of the legs. Liberals, on the other hand, believe that older women should be free to express their individuality and that fashion knows no age restrictions.

Sultry in La Perla Lingerie

At 58, Berry still enjoys flaunting her curves and dressing as she pleases, and I admire her for that. Her confidence is truly inspiring. Besides, as they say, if you got it, flaunt it! And honestly, I think she looks better than some celebrities half her age.

Halle’s La Perla lingerie is not for the faint-hearted. Pulling it off requires both body and confidence; Halle is fortunate to have both.

When The Hollywood Reporter questioned her about her evening look, the Bruised director confidently said, “Because I can, goddamn.” And I couldn’t agree more!

She’s nearing 60, but the Oscar winner looks fab in the see-through sheer lace lingerie, which includes a flattering form-fitting bodysuit. It has a daring plunging V-neckline, long sleeves, and fabric strips that resemble corset ribbing.

The Bond girl went all out for the sensual style, complementing the see-through bodysuit with a matching knee-length sheer skirt adorned with lace flowers. The skirt stops above her knees and has a scalloped hem and a high waist. Some may not agree, but I think the pairing looks impressive.

I particularly like how the outfit suits her contours wonderfully and covers her modesty with strategically placed flower embroidery.

Embracing Subtle Method Dressing

Berry plays a secret agent in The Union. Still, her ensemble is reminiscent of her iconic role as Catwoman from the 2004 film—an outfit that has seen renewed attention as the film recently celebrated its 20th anniversary.

In The Union, Berry stars as Roxanne Hall. She works as a secret spy for a covert organization called The Union. She later enlists her high school sweetheart, Mike McKenna (Mark Wahlberg), a construction worker from New Jersey, on a dangerous mission.

As the story unfolds, the two rekindle their relationship.

So, what connection does her attire have with the movie’s theme? Berry felt her ensemble was a fantastic representation of the movie’s concept of lovers getting back together.

“I thought with the theme of this movie being lovers reuniting, it was time to bring this out,” she said. “This is also where I’m at today.”

The boldness of the ensemble, combined with the romantic touches of the flowery lace, perfectly complements the movie’s romance theme.

Minimal Jewelry with Feminine Dolce & Gabbana Mary Janes

I appreciate Berry’s decision to keep her neck bare to enhance the sultriness of the look. Instead, she wore the $23,220 Basilik Earrings by French-Lebanese jeweler Selim Mouzannar. They are made from 18k yellow gold and set with 3.99ct. diamonds and 0.09ct. blue sapphires. A few rings by Kallati adorned her manicured hands.

Stylist Lindsay Flores put together Berry’s ensemble. Jorge Monroy gave Berry a dewy, bronzed look, highlighting her eyes with smokey eyeshadow and her lips with nude lip gloss. Sara Seward, meanwhile, styled her brunette bob in natural wet-look curls.

A pair of Mary Jane pumps by Dolce & Gabbana completed her ensemble. Honestly, I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect choice to complement her outfit than these Mary Janes.

Their mesh material went well with her look. They had pointy toes, double-buckle vamp strap fastenings, and grosgrain trimmings.
