Maggie Gyllenhaal’s movie adaptation of Elena Ferrante’s The Lost Daughter took home four out of five awards it was nominated for at the 31st Gotham Awards.
The 44-year-old actress and filmmaker won Breakthrough Director, Best Screenplay, and Best Feature for her directorial debut, while the movie’s lead star Olivia Colman bagged Outstanding Lead Performance.

Olivia plays Leda Caruso, a middle-aged divorcée who becomes obsessed with a beautiful young mother, played by Dakota Johnson, in the Greek-American psychological drama.
The movie will have a limited theatrical release beginning December 17 before streaming on Netflix on December 31.
