It was a ‘Hollaback Girl’ moment at the MET Gala when Gwen Stefani stepped out in a jaw-dropping neon yellow dress from American fashion designer Vera Wang that added a touch of tennis court chic to the occasion.

Her outfit consisted of a bralette top, opera gloves, and a matching gown skirt with taffeta floral detailing that descended the skirt. Stefani was one of several MET Gala attendees who chose a midriff dress for the occasion.
The sweetheart neckline and the voluminous skirt were inspired by the Vera Wang gown she wore to her wedding with Blake Shelton in July 2021 at Shelton’s Oklahoma ranch.

“I got a call that Vera wanted me to be her date, and I was just so honored that she chose me,” Gwen told Vogue.
“She has such a distinct thing that she does that is so feminine, and I think ever since I met my husband, that part of me has really come out in my fashion more than ever—the femininity that I didn’t really embrace for a lot of years, just because of being in a band with all guys and being on stage,” she explained.
She also told Vogue’s red carpet livestream, “The thing is, she did my wedding dress. I got married this year so I just felt it was appropriate that I come to the ball and celebrate that… And all of the sudden we’re in neon!”

Her makeup adds a pop of color with electric blue eyeliner while she coordinated with neon yellow acrylics.
The “What You Waiting For?” singer told reporters that she did her own makeup using upcoming new products from her GXVE makeup brand that will launch in June.
“Honestly, I had a crazy day because I was supposed to work with a new makeup artist… and she had an emergency and she had to leave so I had to do my own makeup,” she explained.

Fortunately, she brought her makeup kit. “I was a makeup artist myself back in the day. That said to me, ‘Get in the seat and do your makeup, Gwen Stefani. You have this new makeup line, you’re at The Met, and you’re in New York for the first time in forever.’ Luckily, I brought my kit.”
“I had a lot of fun doing it today and it was stressful too but in a good way. I was like, ‘Alright, I got this.'”
