In January 2020, Renée Zellweger bagged her fourth Golden Globe at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills.
The 50-year-old actress and producer won Best Actress in a Motion Picture in the Drama category for portraying Judy Garland in Rupert Goold’s Judy. She was up against Charlize Theron for Bombshell, Saoirse Ronan for Little Women, Scarlett Johansson for Marriage Story, and Cynthia Erivo for Harriet.
Renée thanked her co-stars and Judy director Rupert Goold in her acceptance speech. She honored the late Judy Garland and described her as “one of the greatest icons of our time.”
The American actress picked up her first Golden Globe Best Actress in 2001 for Nurse Betty. She also won the award two years later, in 2003, for Chicago. In 2004, she won Best Supporting Actress for Cold Mountain.

For tonight’s event, Renée took to the stage in an elegant pastel blue silk cady gown from Armani Privé. She looked sophisticated in the strapless bustier dress, which features a column silhouette and crystal-embroidered piping. It also has a thigh-high slit, which allowed her to show off her slender pins.
In an interview with British Vogue, stylist Petra Flannery revealed that they began planning Renée’s outfit for the 2020 Golden Globes since autumn. “We embarked on a journey to find just the right shade of blue,” she told Vogue UK.
Petra also said that Renée opted for the Italian fashion house because “Armani exemplifies Hollywood glamour, yet always adopts a modern approach to dressing.”
“The shapes are often sleek and statuesque. This dress, in particular, exudes these qualities with its column silhouette and half-moon curvature at the top. The polished and graceful details mirror Renée’s style,” she added.
