You can always count on Zendaya to turn every press tour she attends into a fashion show. The 27-year-old actress has been serving up a fashion grand slam this spring, demonstrating on the press circuit how to rock tenniscore even without any sporty elements.
Ahead of the release of Challengers in US theaters on Friday, April 26, Zendaya resumed the press tour for the romantic sports drama this week in New York City, wearing two chic spring green outfits evocative of Wimbledon’s sophistication and elegance.

Blooming in Retro Floral Green and White Erdem Dress
Arriving at the Good Morning America studios on Tuesday to discuss her upcoming film, the youngest CFDA Fashion Icon winner donned a floral dress reminiscent of a 1950s housewife. I bet many heaved a sigh of relief after seeing that the dress had no tennis ball motif.
As the Challengers press tour draws to a close, Zendaya seems to be putting her method dressing days behind her and embracing her next role, this time as a co-chair of the 2024 Met Gala. With the theme “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” Met Gala attendees are expected to follow the dress code based on The Garden of Time short story by J.G. Ballard.
The Dune star’s floral dress seems to be a sneak peek at her interpretation of this year’s Met Gala dress code. However, the green and white combination also reminds me of the tennis-inspired outfits she showcased at the beginning of the Challengers promotional tour.

Hailing from Erdem’s Fall/Winter 2024 collection, the dress features green and yellow floral prints and quirky hand-painted green striped brushstrokes, capturing the London-based label’s signature aesthetic, often mixing vibrant prints and exquisite textiles.
I loved how it appeared on the runway, but Erdem and Zendaya’s stylist Law Roach modified the dress to better suit the Euphoria star. They trimmed the ankle-length dress to a tea length and layered it with a tulle petticoat to evoke a 1950s retro look. I would have preferred it if the tulle underlay had been shorter than the dress, as I thought it was too girlie for Zendaya.
They retained the rest of the original details, including the pleated, ruched bodice, raw hem, and spaghetti straps.

Balancing the Busy Dress with Minimalist Accessories
Styling was impeccable, as usual; I commend Law Roach for choosing modest jewelry to balance the busy dress.
Just as I had expected, the Bulgari ambassador naturally wore a selection of jewelry from the Italian luxury fashion house. She fastened a pair of stud earrings to her ears, put on the Serpenti Viper bracelet and the B.Zero 1 white gold and diamond bangle on her wrist, and adorned her hand with the Bulgari Magnifica ring to complement her ensemble.
Again, Law Roach made Zendaya wear the white Christian Louboutin “So Kate” pumps, her go-to footwear since the Challengers press tour began.

I appreciate her glam team, Ernesto Casillas and Ursula Stephen, for coordinating Zendaya’s beauty look with her retro ensemble.
Zendaya’s lids were painted with brown eyeshadow by Casillas, who then used complementary lip gloss and peachy blush. Stephen finished the 1950s American housewife appearance by flipping the ends of her light blonde hair and parting it to the side.

‘80s Chic in Green Thierry Mugler Suit
After taping an episode for GMA, Zendaya left the studio in a chic skirt suit, radiating a girl boss vibe ahead of her guest appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark.
Proving she hasn’t ditched method dressing just yet, Zendaya swapped her retro dress for a tennis ball green vintage Thierry Mugler skirt suit, which Law Roach sourced from Arsenic and Old Lace Vintage shop. I have to say, I love this look on her!
Zendaya was stunning in the vintage suit comprised of a tailored knee-length pencil skirt and a longline jacket that highlighted her slender, statuesque figure. The jacket’s collarless high neck and asymmetrical hemline perfectly captured the avant-garde architectural aesthetic synonymous with the French fashion designer.

Embracing the shirtless blazer trend, Zendaya wore nothing underneath the plunging blazer—not even a bra—but she looked gorgeous as always.
The jacket didn’t have any buttons, but it came with a rhinestone-encrusted arrow pin that held it in place and secured Zendaya’s modesty.
The Spider-Man star accessorized with the same Bulgari bangles and earrings to add some glitz to the vintage suit. To complete the ensemble, she swapped her white Christian Louboutin “So Kate” shoes for a green pair.
