The cast and crew of the upcoming film Kinds of Kindness attended the New York City premiere on Thursday night, June 20. Emma Stone, Margaret Qualley, Willem Dafoe, and many others graced the star-studded event at The Museum of Modern Art.
Kinds of Kindness, written and directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, features three intertwined stories: a man trying to take control of his life, a policeman whose wife appears to be a different person, and a woman searching for someone with a unique ability.

This film marks Emma Stone’s third collaboration with Yorgos Lanthimos. Her first was the 2018 film The Favourite, where she starred alongside Rachel Weisz and Joe Alwyn. The second was 2023’s Poor Things, which won her the Oscar Award for Best Actress.
In Kinds of Kindness, Emma plays Rita and reunites with Joe Alwyn. The film also stars Jesse Plemons, Hong Chau, and frequent Yorgos Lanthimos collaborators Willem Dafoe and Margaret Qualley.
Daring and Romantic in Black Sheer Louis Vuitton Polka Dot Gown
Emma Stone brought the drama to the red carpet premiere, kicking off a busy summer with a showstopping look. Building on her recent foray into bolder styles, she embraced a new direction with this daring sheer polka-dot dress.
The sheer trend is here to stay, and Emma offered a refreshing take on the look, showcasing her unique sense of fashion. While celebrities have donned see-through pieces, her dress perfectly balances playful and provocative.

Designed by creative director Nicolas Ghesquière, the transparent ensemble was a Louis Vuitton masterpiece, plucked straight from the brand’s Resort 2025 collection, which debuted last month.
The 35-year-old American actress and film producer is no stranger to the French luxury fashion house, as she’s been its brand ambassador since 2017.
In my opinion, this black gown is a true showstopper. It walks the line beautifully between sweet and sultry, romantic and edgy. It has a whimsical quality with a touch of undeniable sex appeal, guaranteeing to turn heads wherever she goes.
The Cruella star’s dress featured a straight neckline and long sleeves. The lightweight fabric draped elegantly across her torso and shoulders before flowing into a dramatic, see-through skirt that cascaded down to the floor. The two abdominal cutouts infused daring, wrapping just beneath her rib cage and hinting at the skin beneath.

Emma’s gown was crafted from a sheer fabric with intricate netting, offering glimpses of her arms, midriff, and legs through the transparent material.
What truly captivates me is how it was adorned with a seemingly endless scattering of tiny black polka dots. These dots played beautifully against her ivory skin, creating a stunning contrast.
Like the bodice, the opaque sections featured panels adorned with Louis Vuitton’s signature checkerboard print, adding another layer of geometric intrigue to the overall design.
Embracing Effortless Glamour with Minimalist Accents
Emma Stone and her stylist, Petra Flannery, truly impress me with their approach to accessorizing this showstopping dress. Instead of competing with the intricate details of the gown, they opted for a minimalist approach that let the dress take center stage.
They chose a unique route for the undergarments. The House Bunny actress sported black opaque boxer briefs, which I find surprisingly cool and bold. They perfectly complement the dress’s romantic and edgy vibe. Layering fishnet tights underneath the boxer briefs provided a subtle textured effect.

Emma slipped on custom black Louis Vuitton sandals to elongate her legs. The open toes and thin, high heels offered elegance and practicality, allowing her to navigate the red carpet confidently.
I think the decision to keep accessories minimal is brilliant. By forgoing a statement necklace or elaborate bracelets, all eyes remained on the stunning, diaphanous dress.
However, the look wasn’t completely devoid of sparkle. The La La Land star added a touch of classic sophistication with a pair of delicate Louis Vuitton diamond stud earrings. A matching silver Louis Vuitton Damier diamond ring completed the look with a subtle touch of luxury.
Her glam squad deserves applause for creating a simple and stunning look. Emma sported a dewy complexion for her makeup, accentuated by a sharp contour, rosy flushed cheeks, pink lips, winged eyeliner, subtle eyeshadow, and long lashes.
The Easy A actress made a subtle yet significant change to her hairstyle, trading her signature auburn locks for a luxurious chocolate brown shade. She styled it with a center part and blowout style while slicking the hair behind her ears.
Stuns in Gothic Glam Brandon Maxwell Dress at The Tonight Show
Emma Stone hit the ground running for the Kinds of Kindness press tour, appearing on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon before the movie premiere.
Her style choices throughout the day offered a glimpse into her current fashion mood, which is all about moody vibes and gothic glamour.

She embraced a more wintery aesthetic for her talk show appearance, opting for a striking oxblood Brandon Maxwell dress from the American fashion designer’s Resort 2025 collection. The color fascinates me – it perfectly matches her fair complexion, making her whole face glow.
This burgundy Brandon Maxwell The Rae lacquered midi dress offered a glimpse into winter fashion trends. I have to say, the dress is a surprise — a glossy patent leather number with a strapless neckline and a sleek, high-shine finish.
I particularly loved the ruffled details under the bust, which infused a touch of whimsy. The two convenient front pockets were a practical detail contributing to the dress’s coolness.

What truly elevates the look for me is the way she cinched her waist with a matching Brandon Maxwell leather belt. The belt featured a gold-rimmed oversized marble heart-shaped buckle for more personality and a playful edge.
Emma’s stylist, Petra Flannery, clearly had a vision for a monochromatic look. Instead of sticking with the green boots from the runway presentation, she added her personal touch with the footwear, staying true to the color theme of the outfit.
She slipped on custom Louis Vuitton sandals in a matching burgundy shade. The open toes, toe and ankle straps, and thin stiletto heels offered elegance and practicality, ensuring a confident stride on stage.

The monochromatic theme continued with the bag. Emma carried a small-sized monogrammed Louis Vuitton Scott bag, the perfect size for her daytime essentials. A pair of maroon sunglasses completed the look.

She went all out with Walters Faith jewels for her accessories. Emma donned a pair of oversized Walters Faith Ottoline 18k gold and diamond baguette round hoop earrings. The rings were equally impressive – a mix of Walters Faith pieces, including the Clive 18k gold & diamond 10mm fluted band ring, the Clive 18k two-tone diamond fluted band ring, and the Lytton 18k gold bombe ring with diamond edges.
The finishing touch was a simple glam look. A swipe of light red lipstick added a touch of color, while her dark hair was styled straight, with a middle part framing Emma’s face.
