Plenty of celebrities share a name, but at some point, they become so famous it seems odd that anyone would mix them up. Even still, such was the case for Emma Watson and Emma Roberts.
The Mistaken Identity Incident
Watson is best known as Hermione Granger in the blockbuster Harry Potter series, while Roberts is known for several smaller projects, such as We’re the Millers and Scream Queens.
The mix-up occurred when HBO Max’s Harry Potter reunion special mistakenly included a photo of a young Emma Roberts in Mickey Mouse ears, crediting the image as Emma Watson.

Both actresses took the mix-up in stride. Watson humorously addressed the mistake by posting the photo on Instagram with the caption, “I was not this cute.” She tagged Roberts and added a laughing emoji along with the hashtag #emmasistersforever.
Roberts reposted the photo to her Instagram stories, saying, “Haha! I don’t believe that!”
The Response and Reactions
The producers of the Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts special admitted their mistake and applauded fans for noticing the flaw.
However, their response to their error wasn’t quite as lighthearted as the two actresses. They noted that they would fix the error, though.

We’re not quite sure how this mixup happened or where they got the photo, but we must admit it could happen to anybody.
And if any two celebrities are going to be mistaken for one another, we’re glad it was a duo with understanding responses, which made for a fun day on the internet.
Emma Roberts’s Chic Shopping Look
In April 2016, Emma Roberts enjoyed some time away from the camera and indulged in some shopping in West Hollywood.

Emma added a quirky element to the look with a pair of leopard boots and kept the ensemble cool and chic with a pair of Ray-Ban round aviators and an Anya Hindmarch leather backpack.
She accessorized with gold earrings, bracelets, and a Cartier watch. The niece of Julia Roberts casually wore her red tresses down and sported barely-there makeup.
