It’s a pretty well-known fact that Emma Roberts isn’t really at the top of our list of celebrities with award-winning smiles. We mean, Jimmy Fallon even got Emma to teach the “resting bitch face” on his show. The actress has earned previous roles thanks to her default sulky expression, including the popular character Chanel Oberlin on Scream Queens.

Since smiling doesn’t seem to come naturally to Emma, the actress sought help from an emoji as she arrived at the Airbnb Open in Los Angeles.

Emma wore a plunging leather dress by her stylist’s namesake brand Elkin. The actress accessorized her look with necklace layers by Jacquie Aiche and a pair of Chloé patent wedges.

The 25-year-old sought help from her yellow smiley face bag, Gelareh Mizrahi’s “Smile For Me” python clutch, which was pretty appropriate for the usually sullen actress.

Despite her seemingly unfavorable facial expression, Emma is actually quite an animated girl. We’re guessing she’s similar to Victoria Beckham, who goes crazy with BFF Eva Longoria behind the scenes.
Maybe Emma’s boyfriend Evan Peters will upload a see-I-told-you-she-smiles photo just like David Beckham did. Until then, we’ll let Emma’s Geraleh Mizrahi emoji clutch help her.
