After showcasing her impressive collection of winter coats in recent weeks, Emily Ratajkowski showed her take on Y2K fashion by wearing a wide headband—the hair accessory that has been trending on TikTok and other social media platforms.

Turning her daily walks with her dog Colombo into a fashion moment, Ratajkowski embraced the early aughts with her stretchy wide red headband that matched her pet’s harness.

Usually made of cotton, the Y2K headband goes beyond simply keeping hair and perspiration off your face. It has now become a must-have accessory, having been spotted on “it girls” like Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid.

The nostalgic wide headband is arguably the latest fashion trend to surface, joining the multitude of early 2000s styles that have gained popularity in recent years.

Ratajkowski teamed her 2000s hair accessory with a chic casual ensemble that also gave off a Y2K vibe.

Known for her sexy, skin-baring outfits, Emily wrapped herself up and hid her slender frame in an oversized light gray rib-knit sweater with green stripe accents around the neckline and cuffs.

Her slouchy top was partially tucked into a pair of baggy jeans in a muted olive-green hue, securely fastened around her waist by a thick black leather belt from NYC-based womenswear label Khaite.

The “Bella” calf leather belt, available for $480 at Saks Fifth Avenue, is three inches wide and has a chunky gold-tone buckle.

Emily accessorized with a pair of thin gold hoop earrings and rectangular sunglasses, taking her street style to a more sophisticated level.

The Y2K aesthetic is still very much alive in 2023, and judging by the celebrities who are constantly showing off their stylish interpretations of Y2K looks and accessories, it looks like this trend will continue into 2024.

The New York Times best-selling author completed her chic casual outfit with an updated rendition of the iconic Adidas “Response CL” running sneakers from the 2000s.

This new version, released in September, is designed in collaboration with Kendall Jenner’s boyfriend, Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny. It boasts the original dad sneaker silhouette crafted from a breathable mesh in a neutral brown colorway with Adidas’ Adiprene cushioning and fluid suede leather overlays.

In addition to the bold TPU three-stripe detailing, these dad shoes have Bad Bunny’s “El Oho” logo at the heel.

The previous day, Emily was spotted in another stylish casual ensemble while walking her dog around New York City.

She looked cozy in a brown puffer jacket with a waist-cinching belt layered over a gray sweater. A pair of black Alo Yoga “Airbrush” high waist bootcut leggings and white Stella McCartney “Ultra Boost” sneakers rounded out her chic daytime autumn outfit.
