I was astounded by Elizabeth Banks’ outfit choice at the Louis Vuitton-hosted prelude to the Olympics party last week, so seeing her make a stylish comeback to the United States in yet another classic-contemporary dress didn’t surprise me.

Arriving at the Good Morning America studios, The Hunger Games actress was impossible to miss in her summery turquoise David Koma Fall 2024 dress. It captures her signature style, which often blends classic elegance and contemporary flair.

I was a little taken aback when I found out that the dress was by David Koma. The Georgian fashion designer is famous for his ultra-body-contouring, sculptural silhouettes that draw inspiration from the feminine form.

While Banks’ neoprene dress is undoubtedly very feminine, it deviates slightly from the London-based label’s typical bodycon offerings. It had an A-line midi skirt with a straight hem and a wide apron-style bodice. Its runway version, presented in black, had an asymmetrical hemline and a narrower cutout top.

Banks’ dress was altered to include sheer side panels, which I didn’t particularly appreciate. It made the dress look too tight and gave her side rolls.

What drew my eye were the large crystal embellishments that provided a contemporary twist to the classic A-line silhouette.

Though I’m not too fond of the dress, seeing it on Banks is interesting. I find it incredible that at 50, she can still pull off this look.

Elizabeth Banks’ Roger Vivier Crystal Ball Heels

I adore how her silver Roger Vivier shoes matched the adornments on her outfit. They are made in Italy from laminated silver leather and have slim straps, a crystal clasp, and a 3.5-inch heel with an opulent crystal ball accent.

As this isn’t a new model, the price of this pair has dropped from $1,150 to $381 on Yoox.

Elizabeth Banks’ Soft Glam and Accessories

Erin Walsh, whose famous clientele includes Selena Gomez, Anne Hathaway, and Sofia Carson, put together Banks’ ensemble. She accessorized it with sparkling jewelry from award-winning LA-based jewelry brand Anita Ko, enhancing the overall elegance of the look.

She fastened the $11,675 Diamond Claw Earrings to her ears, made of 18k white gold with 1.72ct. diamonds, and adorned her well-manicured hands with a few 18k white gold diamond rings.

These include the $4,775 Princess Eternity ring with .31cts. pave diamonds and .40cts. pear diamonds, the $8,000 Diamond Coil ring with 1.89cts. diamonds, and the $4,300 Diamond Braided ring with .63cts. diamonds.

Bens Kervin fashioned her shoulder-length blonde hair in a sleek side-parted bob. At the same time, Gita Bass accentuated her stunning soft features with minimal makeup, including mascara, pink blush, and pink lipstick.

Elizabeth Banks to Star in Skincare Movie

Banks visited the Emmy-winning morning news program to discuss her upcoming crime thriller, Skincare, which will be released on August 16. The film, directed by Austin Peters, centers on celebrity aesthetician Hope Goldman (Elizabeth Banks), who’s starting her skincare line.

However, Hope’s reputation and business are tested when her rival facialist Angel Vergara (Luis Gerardo Méndez) opens a new skincare boutique just next door. After many disturbing events, she fears someone is trying to sabotage her, so she teams up with her new buddy, Jordan (Lewis Pullman), to unravel the mystery.

Skincare is reportedly loosely based on the story of celebrity facialist Dawn DaLuise, who was accused of hiring a hitman to get rid of her rival beauty expert.

Elizabeth Banks Shares Choking Incident

Banks also discussed the sixth season of Press Your Luck, the game show she has been hosting since 2019, and opened up about her “first-ever choking incident.”

She said that during a break from filming, she was by herself in her trailer when she had the horrifying experience—a little green pea stuck in her throat.

“I threw the door open—couldn’t make any noise, was so afraid.” Luckily, a crew member saw her and asked if she was choking. He then proceeded to do the Heimlich maneuver, the first aid treatment for choking.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, “It’s also known as abdominal thrusts because the method involves thrusting into the abdominal area.”

“He had to do it twice,” Banks added. “His name is Julius. He is my guardian angel.”
