For the Mad Men fans out there, the anticipation for the sixth season reached its peak back in 2013. The season officially premiered on April 7, leaving fans eager to dive back into the drama.
Ahead of the premiere, the cast and other celebrities gathered for a glamorous red carpet event on March 20, 2013, at the Directors Guild of America in Hollywood. The women dazzled in stunning dresses, and we couldn’t help but admire their stylish choices. Take a look back at their red carpet looks and let us know who you think stole the show!
1. Jessica Pare’s Bold and Vibrant Prabal Gurung Look
Among the ladies at the premiere was Jessica Pare, who stood out with a burst of bold, striking colors. She wore a satin sheath dress from Prabal Gurung’s Pre-Fall 2013 collection.
It features bright pink and turquoise colors that show a floral design. It also has 3/4 sleeves, and Jessica styled it with a black belt with pink piped trimming. She finished her look with Prabal Gurung for Casadei mesh pumps with white toe caps.

2. Teyonah Parris Stuns With Natural Pompadour and High-Neck J. Loren Gown
Another standout look came from Teyonah Parris. This actress shows a unique hairstyle whenever she walks out on the red carpet.
She did it again at the premiere. Aside from her natural pompadour, her black-and-gold J. Loren dress also stood out. We’re used to seeing her in tube-top or one-shoulder dresses, so seeing her in a sleeveless, high-neck dress is new.

3. Christina Hendricks Wears Velvet Elegance With a Button-Down Twist
We’ve known Christina Hendricks for her plump figure and seen her wear outfits revealing some skin and cleavage. While she usually dresses seductively and stunningly, Christina’s most recent look didn’t capture my attention.
Although it is said that black can make one look thinner, I think the dress did nothing for her. I loved the dress when I spotted it on the model, but it didn’t look good on Christina.
It’s a velvet dress with a button closure down the front. As you can see, Christina chose to open some of the buttons to show a little of her cleavage.

4. Elisabeth Moss Embraces Edgy Minimalism in Alexander McQueen
Elisabeth Moss is the type who keeps everything classic. Looking at her past red carpet photos, you’ll notice she usually wears black. While there’s nothing wrong with that, we’re still hoping to see her try different outfits, say, bolder or edgier ones.
The actress wore another black dress at the ‘Mad Men’ premiere. It’s a sexy above-the-knee Alexander McQueen dress with a plunging neckline and structured sides that show a peplum effect.
We don’t have a photo of her back, but this dress has a zipper closure; however, Elisabeth showed an open back, as it looked like the zipper couldn’t go up.

5. January Jones Exudes Freshness in Light Jonathan Saunders Chiffon
Unlike other celebrities who wore dark or boldly colored dresses, January Jones chose to look fresh and light in a Jonathan Saunders Spring 2013 dress.
The dominant light blue shade is combined with ivory silk, then asymmetrically cut and replaced with see-through chiffon. This exposed her legs; perhaps just a little movement could show her bikini cut.

6. Alison Brie Keeps It Classic and Modern in Givenchy Black
Alison Brie, who plays Trudy Campbell, looked sweet and classic. Her black Givenchy above-the-knee sleeveless dress is simple but edgy.
It features a mesh panel on one shoulder and an asymmetrical detail at the chest. Her light makeup added sweetness to her entire look.

7. Jennifer Westfeldt Turns Heads in a Sculptural Navy Ensemble
I don’t like Jennifer Westfeldt’s dress, but its structured look interests me. There seem to be too many seaming details and lines going on here. This dress falls below the knee and has a mermaid-like detail at the hem.

8. Kiernan Shipka Charms in Red Valentino’s Playful Jewel Print
Last is 13-year-old Kiernan Shipka, who looked cute in an age-appropriate dress from Red Valentino’s fall 2013 collection. She portrays Sally Draper, the daughter of Don and Betty Draper.
The sleeveless dress features jewel prints that seem embroidered from afar. I love this dress, and I also love how Kiernan styled it with black lace pumps.
