Automatically getting your own shoe line is one of the perks of marrying a shoe designer and Lisa Pliner, wife of American shoe designer Donald J Pliner, has rightfully taken advantage of that.
Lisa has worked side-by-side with her husband for over 10 years and in 2009, she wisely decided to branch out and create her own shoe label named Lisa for Donald J Pliner or simply Lisa Pliner.

So what’s the major difference between Donald J Pliner shoes and Lisa Pliner shoes? Well, from what we’ve seen, they’re definitely more feminine, sexier and somehow more in-touch.
This falls right in line with Lisa Pliner’s vision of women’s shoes as having “comfort, height, sexiness and being in trend”. Lisa also mentioned in her interview with Fashion Entrepreneur Report that her shoes are meant to be “sexy but something you can walk in” so she added the lug sole bottom to the platforms on her over 4-inch high-heeled shoes.

Those are lug soles on pretty pumps, delicate sandals, and elegant slingbacks by the way, and not on sneakers, combat boots, hiking shoes or any of that sort.

Lisa for Donald J Pliner Ickett slingback pump, $225.00
These Lisa Pliner designs actually aren’t the first lug-soled pumps we’ve come across. The combination of the heavy-duty lug sole and the posh upper on these shoes make for an interesting contrast. But we’d like to know: do these work for you?
