While it’s no longer commonly applied, one way you can use a scarf is as a head cover, with the ends tied under your chin, just like glamorous women used to do.

We don’t see women using their scarves this way anymore, but Dita Von Teese is an exception to the norm. The Burlesque queen was spotted donning our favorite extra over her head while hopping into a friend’s red convertible last week.
You can guess why she wore her scarf that way- it was probably more to keep her hair in place than a fashion statement!
Of course, with her signature old Hollywood style, let’s just say she looked like she came straight out of a 60s movie with James Dean in the driver’s seat.

I think we ladies should take a cue from Dita. If you’re going to ride a top-down sports car, or if you’re headed outdoors — be it a picnic or a day at the beach where your hair will have a major tug of war with the wind, why not do it some favor by keeping it in place with a scarf?
