She sported her now-signature buzz cut, along with a bold smokey eye and a new lip. The singer stunned in a Balenciaga black gown that was form-fitting and replete with a scarf, train, and black gloves.

The only portion of Lovato‘s skin to be seen was her face, making for a daring yet fashion-forward look.

Stars are known for wearing black to the actual ceremony as it’s associated with winning an Oscar, but Lovato proved to be lucky even without taking home an award in her Oscar ensemble.
The Camp Rock star is best known for her music career, but recently she has been more vocal about social justice issues, particularly LGBTQIA+ rights as she identifies as pansexual and non-binary.

The singer has also made headlines in recent years due to her struggles with mental health, particularly substance abuse.
After attempting a California sober lifestyle – abstaining from all substances aside from marijuana – Lovato has now committed to being fully sober.
