A Double Date to Remember
The singer-songwriter met her future husband through her friend, Chloë Grace Moretz, who was dating David and Victoria Beckham’s eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham. Daryl and Chloe became friends when starring in the off-Broadway play The Library.
The four went on a double date to the bowling alley. Moretz and Beckham jokingly tried to get Trainor and Spy Kids actor Sabara to kiss, but the “Like I’m Gonna Lose You” singer wanted to do it “on my own time.”
The Moment That Sealed Their Fate
“Then I looked at my security guard, and I was like, ‘Be gone.’ And that’s what gave Daryl the clue of, oh, it’s going down,” Trainor joked.
Sabara’s performance of Elton John’s “Your Song” particularly charmed Trainor, marking the start of their inseparable companionship.
Trainor felt sure about marrying Sabara within the first month of their relationship, especially after he joined her on tour and they spent extensive time together.
“He sang ‘Your Song’ by Elton John, in my face, to me,” Meghan said about the moment she realized he was the one. “He’s something else. I’ve never met anyone like him, and I was like, ‘I’m gon’ marry you.’”
