Danai Gurira is getting us all hyped up for “Black Panther!” The star of the latest Marvel superhero film showed up to her guest appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Wednesday rocking a badass patterned buzz cut with a really cool shaved design.
The 39-year-old told Jimmy Kimmel that her close-cut hairdo is, in fact, an homage to her “Black Panther” character Okoye, the leader of the Dora Milaje, which is an all-women special forces for the fictional African nation of Wakanda. She and the rest of the army all rocked and bonded over their shaved and tattooed heads for the film.
Watch Danai as Okoye be unimpressed by bullets and stop a car dead in its tracks with a spear all while in a red evening gown in her “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” interview below.
Danai flaunted her incredibly fit figure in a Diane von Furstenberg red-and-blue printed long-sleeved dress. She accessorized with eye-catching silver starburst earrings and sexy Christian Louboutin “Gwynitta” sandals.

A few days earlier, Danai joined co-star Lupita Nyong’o at the world premiere of “Black Panther” at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
The Zimbabwe-raised actress received mixed fashion reviews on her Viktor & Rolf Spring 2018 pink-satin column dress with a one-shoulder ruffle and black beading. While her gold eyeliner and silver metal headband were fabulous, the dress itself looked too ’80s prom Barbie on “The Walking Dead” star.

We couldn’t quite get good views of Danai’s black satin ankle-strap sandals, but they appear to be Jimmy Choos based on the slightly thicker heels and the seamless ankle straps.
