We all know how bold Katy Perry’s style is. She may have had some fashion misses, but she always gets back into the game and shows off some incredible looks.
Recently though, when she was seen out in Tribeca to catch the Kinky Boots play, the “Part of Me” songstress was seen in an ensemble that we can perhaps include in her “miss” list.

She was wearing a cleavage-baring mixed-media dress, with ruched sleeves, crepe panels, studded snake trims, and black and sand floral prints in chiffon.
Indeed, there’s a lot going on with this dress, which is from Bottega Veneta’s Spring 2013 collection, but you can’t deny it’s eye-catching. And although she could have let the dress be the main attraction, Katy decided to pair it with lace-up booties in Bordeaux color.

What do you think? Was this a hit or a miss? I personally like both the dress and the heels. However, wearing them together wasn’t a great idea. The boots weighed down the femininity and elegance of the dress. A pair of black pumps or perhaps dainty sandals would look better.
Still, I can’t deny how eye-catching those booties truly are. They’re in a classic shade, but the silhouette created by the suede panels and the gold-tone studding definitely make this pair a lot more modern.
The lace-up design is also hot these days, which means these heels are sure to keep one’s outfit in style. I’d wear them with pencil skirts/dresses or, better yet, with cropped pants for a chic, androgynous style.
By the way, in case you haven’t identified them, they’re called the “Maya” by Bionda Castana.
