Claire Danes stole the show at the 2016 Met Gala in a gorgeous Zac Posen gown. While the powder blue creation looked like any typical ball gown on the red carpet, it had a major twist when the lights went out.

Everyone’s jaw dropped when the Cinderella-esque gown lit up and glowed while the Romeo + Juliet actress walked around the gala.

The custom gown was equipped with fiber optic lights powered by thirty battery packs, all intricately sewn into the organza fabric. With the flip of a switch, the lights made the gown literally glow in the dark.

The ‘Homeland’ star was a standout vision at the event, pairing the dress with a sleek bun, minimal jewelry, and radiant skin. Claire nailed the gala’s “Fashion in an Age of Technology” theme!

Everyone else was wearing edgy, robotic, and metallic pieces, but Claire was the only one who delivered a perfect mix of glamorous, futuristic fashion. This magical Zac Posen creation won our hearts.

Claire Danes has long been a fan of Zac Posen’s designs, and her glowing Met Gala gown wasn’t the first time she turned heads in one of his creations.

A few years earlier, she embraced his signature style at the launch of his highly anticipated Target collaboration, proving that his designs—whether couture or accessible—always make a statement.

In April 2010, fashion lovers had reason to celebrate—Zac Posen teamed up with Target for an exclusive yet effortlessly accessible collection. The designer unveiled his much-anticipated line at a stylish, intimate soirée, setting the perfect scene for a night of fashion and fun.

Naturally, Posen’s biggest fans—models, celebrities, and trendsetters—flocked to the event, eager to get first dibs on his signature designs. The collection seamlessly blended high fashion with affordability, proving that great style doesn’t have to come with a luxury price tag.

Notable among the attendees were Maggie Gyllenhaal, Claire Danes, Ginnifer Goodwin, Michelle Trachtenberg, Selma Blair, and supermodels Coco Rocha and Alek Wek.

It was, however, Claire Danes who caught my eye. The actress wore a long, bright printed number from the new label that looked delightful. The dress did wonders for her pale skin and strawberry-blonde hair:

Seeing it up close was even more of a delight as I found it printed with what looked like multicolored cigarette sticks! How quirky!

The belt is the only thing I would probably want to change in Claire’s outfit. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mean to remove it. I mean, replace it with something thicker and less textured.

Pretty as she is, Claire’s body has a long-waisted torso. To balance this, she should have worn a thicker belt with the dress, and with the busy print, the belt should have been the opposite – plain and simple. Other than this minor issue, Claire Danes rocked her Zac Posen outfit perfectly.
