Named after a discontinued in-flight magazine, Cara Delevingne has made quite a name for herself in the modeling industry.
First published in 1968, Cara Magazine was published on behalf of Aer Lingus by Image Publications. It was suspended in 2020 in response to a reduction in flights due to the impact of Covid-19.

Despite her undoubtedly busy social schedule, in February 2014, the then-21-year-old model took a night off from partying and was spotted spending quality time with her dad, English property developer Charles Hamar Delevingne, at an auction house in London.
“I remember I used to go backwards and forwards to Dublin a lot, and the name of the Aer Lingus magazine was Cara. I loved the name,” Cara’s father told the Irish Times in 2021. “I’m here to celebrate 100 years of Anglo-Irish friendship. Long may it continue.”
“We were delighted to learn that our popular inflight magazine was the inspiration behind Cara Delevingne’s name,” a spokesperson for the flag carrier of Ireland said in a statement.
The word “cara” means “friend” in Gaelic, a Celtic language spoken in Ireland, Scotland, and the Isle of Man.
