I don’t think anybody can pull off an eccentric, dramatic ensemble quite like Cara Delevingne. Consider her latest appearance at the 2024 Vogue World, where she was chosen to host the event.

The 31-year-old model adopted various fashion trends, including the jellyfish trend, Madonna’s conical bra, elf shoes, and the sailor trend. Even though there appeared to be a lot going on in one ensemble, Delevingne, one of the most sought-after models today, still looked effortlessly put together.

2024 Vogue World: A Glitzy Marriage Between French Fashion and Sports

The 2024 Vogue World: Paris, held at Place Vendome, celebrated the longstanding connection between fashion and sports, which dates back to the 1920s. It brought together 188 athletes, 151 models, 70 dancers, and a 40-piece orchestra for a night of glitz and glamour.

A portion of the net proceeds from ticket sales will go to the charitable organization Secours Populaire, which assists young, aspiring athletes in France in obtaining essential equipment.

Whimsical in an Avant-Garde Jean Paul Gaultier x Simone Rocha Dress

She’s never one to walk the red carpet in ordinary clothes. As the evening’s host, Cara Delevingne made an impression in a pale pink corset dress from Jean Paul Gaultier’s Spring 2024 Haute Couture collection.

Designed by guest designer Simone Rocha, it perfectly captures both her own powerful, feminine flair and the signature unconventional elements synonymous with the French fashion brand—from the playful conical bra to corsetry and whimsical ruffles.

ICYDK, JPG’s usage of corsets throughout his collections goes beyond just highlighting the wearer’s body; it is to liberate women from historical constraints.

I adore how the corset’s boning and lace-up sides wonderfully accentuate Delevingne’s slender body. However, I’m not too fond of the neckline; it looks unattractive, and her breasts seem to be practically spilling out of it.

The dress also brings back to life JPG’s iconic conical bra, which debuted in his Fall/Winter 1984-1985 collection and was made famous by Madonna during her 1990 Blonde Ambition tour.

Rocha gave The Face of an Angel star a spikier version of Gaultier’s classic design in an attempt to revisit the look. But I’m not really into it; it’s theatrical and reminds me of an elf’s shoe.

The minidress’s lower part displays the corset’s tiered, layered hems, with garter straps that dangle like ribbons—or more like jellyfish tentacles. A pair of ruffled shorts peek out from underneath the tiered skirt, enhancing the whimsical aspect of the already excessively complex ensemble.

I must say she looks fantastic in this design, even though I think it’s a little too much altogether.

Cara Delevingne’s Theatrical Accessories

I appreciate the Suicide Squad actress for skipping the jewelry; I feel it’s unnecessary. Instead, to add to the whimsical effect, she donned a white silk sailor hat with whipstitch seams and lace-up ribbons dangling at the sides.

I don’t particularly like the addition of the white stockings; I think they’re too costumey.

Although I’m not a fan of the upturned ballerina flats, they match the dress’s conical bra and complement the ensemble. They are finished with thin, feminine bows and satin trims.

Cara Delevingne’s Minimalistic Glam

When it comes to glam, Cara doesn’t disappoint. A soft, dewy makeup was the finishing touch to her look, perfectly complementing her clothing. She wore subtle smokey bronze eyeshadow and mascara to accentuate her blue eyes, soft blush, and neutral matte lipstick.

Her blonde hair was styled pin straight, with one side partially covering her gorgeously made-up face.
