‘I felt like it was a really important story,’ The Vampire Diaries actress told Today about the film focusing on late Toronto Mayor Rob Ford and his sexually-harassed political aide Ashley Pollock.
‘Especially right now in the political climate that we have here. [Ford] was almost like a precursor to what’s going on in the United States. He was extremely polarizing.
‘People either loved him or they hated him. They thought he was entertaining and they thought that he said a lot of outlandish things. So it’s pretty similar in that way.’
