Brooke Shields, the epitome of 1980s grace and glamour, has continued to dazzle on the red carpet with her sophisticated and timeless style. Her most recent appearance was at the 2024 Tony Awards, where she put her best fashion foot forward… or not.
Shields typically dresses in muted colors, so seeing her in a vibrant yellow gown was refreshing. I also thought the color looked good on her warm tan complexion. What bothered me was her choice of shoes—yellow Crocs instead of traditional red-carpet heels.

The 2024 Tony Awards: The Best of Broadway
The 77th Annual Tony Awards, held at Lincoln Center’s David H. Koch Theater on Sunday, honored Broadway productions that shone from 2023 to 2024. The Angelina Jolie-produced musical The Outsiders won Best Musical, while Stereophonic took home the most awards, including Best Play, at the star-studded gala hosted by Ariana DeBose.
Among the noteworthy winners of the evening were first-time nominees Sarah Paulson (Best Leading Actress in a Play, Appropriate), Daniel Radcliffe (Best Featured Actor in a Musical, Merrily We Roll Along), and Jeremy Strong (Best Leading Actor in a Play, An Enemy of the People).
Brooke Shields Shines in Yellow Sequined Monique Lhuillier Dress
Brooke Shields, who introduced Nicole Scherzinger and the “In Memoriam Tribute,” brought sunshine to the Tony Awards blue carpet in a canary yellow dress by Filipino fashion designer Monique Lhuillier.
I adore everything about the dress, from how the color pops against Brooke’s tan skin to how well it complements her more athletic figure.
The yellow sequin sleeveless bodice draws attention to her toned arms and has a daring V-neckline that drops to her belly button for a seductive touch. Though the bodice is already striking, the silk taffeta skirt provides a ladylike finish that I really like.
It has a feminine bow at the waist, placed right below the plunging neckline, and a little bustle to accentuate the hips before falling into a softly tapered floor-length skirt.

Pairing a Contemporary Dress with Classic Accessories
The six-foot-tall actress chose to accessorize her trendy outfit with gold and pearl jewelry, adding a refined touch while striking the ideal mix between traditional and contemporary.
I adore how she kept her neck bare, allowing the sexiness of the plunging silhouette to speak for itself. She wore statement pearl earrings, further enhancing the look’s grandeur.
Gold rings decorated her nude-manicured hands, and a stack of gold bracelets and a tennis bracelet encircled her left wrist. She then kept her essentials handy in a plain gold rectangular clutch.

Complementary Neutral Makeup
Brooke always delivers in terms of glamour. She fashioned her light brown hair sleek and straight, with a center parting tucked behind her ears.
Pink lipstick and blush complemented her eyes, enhanced with sparkly smokey eyeshadow, mascara, and eyeliner. Of course, she sported her signature thick eyebrows, which beautifully framed her face.

Crocs on the Red Carpet
I expected white or gold stilettos underneath Brooke’s yellow dress, but she opted for comfortable shoes instead of customary red carpet heels.
Lifting her skirt, she surprised everyone by showcasing a pair of yellow Crocs that perfectly matched the color of her dress. Being a supermodel sure has its perks, yes? Brooke pulled it off, but I would never dare wear anything like that on the red carpet.
She wore Crocs Classic Clogs, crafted from durable thermoplastic EVA with a removable back strap and a ventilation system for added comfort. They’re on sale at Zappos for $37.49 (down from $49.95).

There’s a reason Shields wore Crocs at the Tony Awards. Just days before the event, she revealed she underwent “Double foot toe surgery.” She shared a photo of her bandaged feet on Instagram, captioning it, “The feet pics are about to level up.”
