Britney Spears announced on Instagram to her excited fans that she and her fiancé Sam Asghari are expecting their first child together.
The “Baby One More Time” singer shared the news via an Instagram post with a caption that read:

“4 days later I got a little more food pregnant 🤰🏼🙈🙈🙈 It’s growing !!! If 2 are in there … I might just loose it 😬😬😬😬😬😬 … I obviously won’t be going out as much due to the paps getting their money 💴 shot of me 📸 like they unfortunately already have … it’s hard because when I was pregnant I had perinatal depression … I have to say it is absolutely horrible 😔 … women didn’t talk about it back then … some people considered it dangerous if a woman complained like that with a baby inside her … but now women talk about it everyday … thank Jesus we don’t have to keep that pain a reserved proper secret 🤫 😬😬😬 … This time I will be doing yoga 🧘♀️ every day !!! Spreading lots of joy and love 💕 !!!”
She’s Wanted a Baby for Some Time Now
The news comes just months after Spears gave emotional testimony during her contentious conservatorship battle about wanting to have more kids and get married.
She told the judge that the conservatorship forced her to remain on birth control.
“I want the real deal. I want to be able to get married and have a baby. I was told right now in the conservatorship I am not able to get married or have a baby,” the singer told the judge presiding over her case in June 2021.

The conservatorship ended after 13 years in December 2021. That same month, Spears made her desire to have another child known when she told her fans via Instagram, “I’m thinking about having another baby!!!” The caption accompanied an image of a little one standing on tiptoes. Back in September 2021, she teased fans with an Instagram post that revealed her holding a baby doll dressed like her and captioned with “Exclusive! We had a baby. What should we name her?”
Sam Asghari’s Sweet Instagram Post
Fiancé Sam Asghari, a fitness trainer, popped the question to the queen of pop in September 2021, after almost 5 years of dating.
Although Spears often refers to Asghari as her husband on social media, it’s unclear whether the two have officially tied the knot. Asghari shared his reaction to the pregnancy reveal a few hours later via Instagram.

Under an illustration of two adult lions cuddling their cup, he captioned, “Marriage and kids are a natural part of a strong relationship filled with love and respect. Fatherhood is something I have always looked forward to and I don’t take lightly. It is the most important job I will ever do.”
Spears Previously Struggled With Perinatal Depression
Spears has two sons from her previous marriage to Kevin Federline, Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden, 15. She also candidly shared in her Instagram post that she suffered from perinatal depression in her past pregnancies.

“I have to say it is absolutely horrible,” She said about her experience with perinatal depression in her Instagram post. “Women didn’t talk about it back then… some people considered it dangerous if a woman complained like that with a baby inside her… but now women talk about it everyday … thank Jesus we don’t have to keep that pain a reserved proper secret.”

Spears let her fans know that she won’t be venturing out in public as much during her pregnancy as she doesn’t want “the paps getting their money shot” of her as they have already.
While she is keeping out of the public eye, she also shared that she will be doing lots of yoga.
