He performed “A Song for You,” a song written and originally recorded by rock singer and pianist Leon Russell for his first solo album Leon Russell in 1970.
An American classic, it has been covered by Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Elton John, Donny Hathaway, and numerous other artists.

The 22-year-old singer and pianist, who has been performing with the Temecula-based band, Midnight Satellites, brought the judges to their feet and tears to their eyes.
One of the new judges this season, Gabrielle Union, hit the golden buzzer for Kodi. He will immediately move to the live shows.
