Finding out that Blake Lively is best friends with other stars in the entertainment industry is fascinating. The talented actress is close pals with both model Gigi Hadid and pop star Taylor Swift!
Just recently, Lively made waves for cosplaying with Hadid at the New York premiere of her husband Ryan Reynolds’ latest film, Deadpool & Wolverine. Many questioned how long these two had been best friends, given that Hadid had taken considerable measures to cosplay with Lively to support Reynold’s new film.

Lively and Hadid’s Friendship Timeline
In case you didn’t know, Lively and Hadid met through Taylor Swift in 2015. After attending Swift’s Fourth of July party in July 2016, Hadid began following Lively on Instagram.
Hadid and Lively are two of the most stylish stars in the industry. They share a passion for fashion, but what I find most endearing about their friendship is that they often compliment and support rather than compete.
In October 2017, Hadid shared a photo of Lively wearing a three-piece menswear-inspired suit on her Instagram Story. “@blakelively YOU ARE EVERYTHING MY FRIEND!!!! So excited for #alliseeisyou out this week,” she captioned the photo.
Later that day, Hadid attended a screening of Lively’s movie, All I See Is You, posing together in clashing but chic dresses.

Fast-forward to 2023, and their friendship remains strong. They often give one another shoutouts on social media.
For Lively’s 36th birthday in August 2023, Hadid posted a throwback photo of her and a pregnant Lively on her Instagram Story. “Pretty sure this pic is before her (our) baby number 1 but I just love it bc I still feel like the baby of the group,” Hadid wrote.
“Lots-o-angelbabies later, u are a magical friend and mamma — protective, warm, witty, thoughtful, talented, HOT! This year, Lively surprised us by bringing Gigi Hadid to cosplay with her at her husband Reynolds’ new movie premiere. Their skillful channeling of iconic superhero figures wowed me!
Cosplay… but make it fashion!
Arriving at the Lincoln Center for the Deadpool & Wolverine movie premiere, Lively and Hadid channeled Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s respective characters in the superhero movie, raising the bar high for method dressing.
Reynolds and Jackman, the actors in the 34th MCU movie, aren’t the type to do method dressing, so I wasn’t expecting them to dress like their respective roles for the movie’s promotional tour. However, considering Reynolds is married to the ever-stylish Blake Lively, I have always looked forward to seeing her walk the red carpet with him because I know her sense of style would enhance the film’s promotional campaign.
And it finally happened at the movie’s premiere in New York City. Lively even exceeded my expectations, matching with Gigi Hadid to fully embrace the evening’s method dressing concept.

Blake Lively as Lady Deadpool in Versace
Naturally, Lively dressed up as the female version of Reynolds’ Deadpool. She tapped Atelier Versace to mimic the superhero’s red latex costume.
Inspired by the catsuits in the house’s Fall 2024 collection, her bespoke metallic red “LadyPool” outfit included tights, opera gloves, and an off-the-shoulder neckline. It was covered with intricate floral beaded embroidery, adding dimension to the shiny fitted number.
Blake said of her suit, “I took too many photos to share in one post. But I had to post these especially to call out the real hero of the night, @versace for making me the most stunning custom LadyPool couture I could’ve ever dreamed of. It is actual art. The work & love that was put into this piece is nothing short of divine.”

I adore how Lively seamlessly pulled the whole look together with matching red Christian Louboutin pumps that seemed specially made to complement the suit’s textural floral embroidery.
Lively thanked Louboutin “for always coming in with the most stunning finisher.” And I couldn’t agree more!
Of course, her accessories have to be equally badass, too! She carried a whimsical black crystal-encrusted ball-and-chain purse by Judith Leiber with a black chain handle wrapped around her hand.

For extra sparkles, Lively wore a black snake diamond bangle and statement ear cuffs by Lorraine Schwartz and Ofira Jewelz, featuring hanging spiky arrowheads and red stone accents.
Let’s not forget her glam team! I love how Jennifer Yepez styled Blake’s sleek blonde hair, pulled back into a high ponytail. Kristofer Buckle, meanwhile, enhanced her features with bronze smokey eye makeup, peachy blush, and nude lips.

Gigi Hadid as Lady Wolverine in Miu Miu
Gigi Hadid willingly embraced Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, wearing a mustard yellow ensemble by Miu Miu.
I am digging this stylish, feminine interpretation of Wolverine’s costume. Hadid donned a yellow leather strapless bandana top, $2,650 at Bergdorf Goodman, with a cropped handkerchief hem and a Miu Miu logo embroidered across the front.
She wore it with a matching low-rise, mustard yellow leather midi skirt with box pleats and an embroidered logo on the back waistband. It retails for $6,700 at Bergdorf Goodman.
Embracing the peekaboo underwear trend, Hadid wore a pair of Miu Miu logo-embroidered bikini bottoms underneath, retailing for $930 at Farfetch. She secured her skirt with a brown suede belt from the same fashion house, with a miniature logo engraving on the buckle.

I adore how Hadid, with the assistance of her stylist Elizabeth Sulcer, kept her accessories cohesive. She carried her essentials in the mustard yellow Miu Miu “Arcadie” matelassé leather bag ($3,200 at Farfetch), which she accessorized with several charms, including Deadpool and Wolverine charms.
Most of Gigi’s accessories were from the Australian label Dinosaur Designs, which is known for its resin jewelry. Her $330 Large River Rock Earrings in Light Horn were secured to her ears, and she accessorized her manicured hands with a few rings, among them the $270 Large Horn Ring.
Hadid went all out, stacking plenty of chunky bangles on each wrist, including a few from Alexis Bittar, the $365 Wide Boulder Bangle, and the $75 Small Rock Bangle from Dinosaur Designs.
She adorned her neck with a Versace gold chain coin necklace and her ankles with a large diamond anklet.

I’m glad Hadid finished the look with black Miu Miu slingback pumps instead of yellow boots, which would have been overkill.
For $1,290 at Farfetch, these pumps have multiple slim buckled straps, blending classic slingback style with Miu Miu’s rebellious soul. They are finished with sharp tapered toes and 4-inch varnished heels.
Hadid had a runway-worthy beauty look. Her blonde bob was fashioned into a slicked-back updo with flipped ends and swoop bangs reminiscent of the Old Hollywood look.
She then wore a cat-eye flick to accentuate her blue-green eyes, with peachy blush and glossy nude lips.
