After making headlines with Gigi Hadid for cosplaying Deadpool and Wolverine, respectively, in support of her husband’s latest superhero movie, Blake Lively is back with her method dressing antics, this time while promoting her upcoming film, It Ends with Us.

In the film, Lively plays florist Lily Bloom, who runs a flower shop named Lily’s Blooms. And throughout the movie press tour, the actress has been wearing all things floral, just as I had anticipated. I have to say, I love every bit of it! After all, she is Blake Lively, aka Gossip Girl’s Serena van der Woodsen, aka the fashion icon of the Upper East Side of Manhattan.

Let’s look at Blake Lively’s radiant floral-themed wardrobe and statement shoes from recent days.

1. Blake Lively in Britney Spears’ Versace Sequined Dress and Metallic Heels

At the It Ends with Us premiere in New York City on Tuesday, August 6, Lively honored Britney Spears by dressing in the same Versace attire the iconic pop star wore in 2002.

The actress dazzled all night in a dress covered in colorful sequins shaped like flowers and butterflies, which surprisingly went well with the evening’s theme.

I was particularly amazed at how similar Lively and Spears’ bodies were! The dress appeared as though it was tailored specifically for Blake, highlighting every inch of her slender form. It had a one-shoulder halter neckline and a daring slit across the chest, showing a hint of her cleavage.

“It is Britney’s actual dress! It should be in the Smithsonian or the Met. But it’s on me. I feel so lucky,” Lively told People on the red carpet.

I love how Blake accessorized her look with botanical-inspired Lorraine Schwartz jewelry. Her accessories included multiple vibrant flower and leaf rings and a pair of flower-shaped earrings set with multicolored jewels.

Lively completed her dazzling appearance with a pair of shimmering metallic silver shoes with open toes and high heels.

She kept her makeup simple with a bit of pink blush, matte pink lipstick, and eyeshadow, letting her innate beauty shine through. Her long blonde hair fell gorgeously over one shoulder, fashioned in classic waves.

2. Blake Lively in Dauphinette Floral Skirt Co-Ords and Christian Louboutin Heels

On Monday, August 5, The Shallows actress attended the film’s press junket at the Four Seasons Downtown in Tribeca. She wore an artsy ensemble by Dauphinette, a New York-based sustainable fashion brand that offers one-of-a-kind, quirky ensembles made from recycled objects and clothing.

I love how Blake effortlessly blended feminine florals with biker edge. She wore the $140 “Olive” recycled jersey tank top in Wonderland Flora with a painted floral leather midi skirt. Topping the look was the brand’s $2,490 “Scrapbook” leather moto jacket, a fully hand-painted motorcycle jacket from the 1980s.

Inspired by vintage pressed botanical prints, the front included hand-painted flower scrapbook imagery, while the back showcased a pearl powder-infused crane motif reminiscent of ancient mother-of-pearl inlaid cabinetry.

Although I believe the combination was already rather ornate, Lively accessorized the look further with statement jewels by Lorraine Schwartz. She adorned her hands with multicolored rings and wore a bright bib necklace that was barely noticeable as it blended in with the flowery design of her top.

With her tresses styled in side-parted soft curls, Lively slipped her feet into the Christian Louboutin “Sova Broda” sandals, which, I think, were the perfect finishing touch to the vibrant look.

They added to the ensemble’s edge with their slick black patent leather construction and thick double straps accented with multicolored faux crystals. The design was finished with buckled slingback straps and slim stiletto heels, enhancing Blake’s 5’10” height.

3. Blake Lively in Dauphinette Floral Co-Ords and Christian Louboutin Heels

Earlier that day, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants actress was spotted leaving CBS Mornings in a similar outfit by Dauphinette. She wore the same “Scrapbook” floral moto cropped jacket, but this time, she paired it with nothing but the “Scrapbook” Bermuda shorts in matching hand-painted floral design.

She was braless underneath the jacket, showcasing her sultry yet rebellious sense of style, which I find appealing. This highlights how effortlessly Lively can rock any look.

Blake finished the outfit with the same Lorraine Schwartz jewels, delicate curls, and soft makeup.

4. Blake Lively in Vintage Blue Dior Skirt Suit and Manolo Blahnik Pumps

I thought Blake had finally decided to break away from her stunning floral streak for her CBS Mornings TV guest appearance on Monday, following all the flowery ensembles she had been sporting recently.

Outside the studio, she was seen in a navy-blue satin skirt suit, which I initially thought was covered in polka dots, especially given that it was a vintage piece from Christian Dior’s Fall 1997 collection designed by John Galliano. However, upon closer look, I was surprised to see that the set had tiny daisy prints punctuated with a red flower button. Yup, she’s sticking to the theme!

I like the intention, but I think the ensemble is too tight for the actress. Her choice of shoes, the Manolo Blahnik “Camparinew” pumps, didn’t complement the rest of her ensemble either. They would probably look fantastic if they were in navy blue.

Don’t get me wrong; I like the shoes. They have a feminine Mary Jane pump silhouette with a daisy motif. The white trims highlight the vintage feel of the outfit even more. Her skirt suit just didn’t fit them.

Lively wore a set of sapphire Lorraine Schwartz floral tassel earrings, a matching botanical-inspired ring, two sapphire rings, and Retrouvai’s Ruby Heart ring to add glitz to the retro look.

Rounding out her flowery accessories, Blake carried her essentials in a white Chanel 3D Camellia bag made from distressed patent leather with aged gold hardware.

5. Blake Lively in Stella McCartney Chap Jeans and Open-Toe Heels

Chaps in August? Why not! Blake Lively wore Stella McCartney chap jeans and a Tory Burch vinyl bodysuit to a press event for It Ends with Us on Monday, emulating a flirtatious cowgirl look.

Her cleavage-baring Tory Burch Fall 2024 bodysuit was cut from shiny vinyl and held in place by skinny spaghetti straps. It was tucked into the Stella McCartney Resort 2025 straight-leg jeans with black soft vegan leather belted chaps embroidered with brown flowers in line with the movie concept.

Lively also donned the Stella McCartney “Falabella” brown wool sweater, which she draped over her arms, adding flair to the look.

Though I agree that the ensemble is too hot and heavy for the season—with its vinyl, leather, and sweater combination—I still commend Lively for putting together such a chic look and pulling it off so well, demonstrating her style mastery.

Lively also did a great job matching her accessories. She skipped the necklace in favor of large dangling gold earrings and threw an arm party with a selection of wooden and gold bangles in one arm.

Although cowboy boots would have been a natural choice for the cowboy outfit, Lively dressed it up by wearing Christian Louboutin heels, which I think look great.

She opted for the “Lipstrass Queen,” named after its lipstick-shaped heels adorned with glimmering strass crystals. The uppers, meanwhile, boasted a classic silhouette with a satin strap across the toes and a slim ankle strap.

6. Blake Lively in Versace Top and Jeans and Christian Louboutin Sandals

Lively opted for a more laid-back approach during a press junket held at the Four Seasons Hotel Downtown in Tribeca on Sunday, August 4. She chose a Versace ensemble composed of a cropped top with a flowery cutout design adorned with pearls, rhinestones, and white beads.

Blake paired the party-ready top with the Italian fashion house’s $3,560 embellished boyfriend jeans, cut from cotton denim in a light-wash finish. I love how the metal Medusa accents, jewels, and drop pearls at the front lend flair to the simple five-pocket design.

Adding a flirty allure to the casual pairing, Blake wore the $225 Versace 90s Vintage Logo Ribbed Bralette underneath, with the Versace logo boxers peeking out from her pants.

Blake wore her long, dirty blonde hair in casual waves, enhancing the look’s edgy glamour. She eschewed the earrings in favor of an ornate necklace made of gold and diamonds, a few chunky rings, and gold bracelets.

Blake completed the ensemble with a pair of peachy satin sandals by Christian Louboutin. The “Carnival” sandals, featuring delicate peep-toes and playful, fluffy petals around the ankles, added a touch of whimsy to her look.

While the overall outfit was striking, it was a missed opportunity not to showcase the sandals’ unique design. If the petals were going to remain hidden, a simple pair of pumps might have been a more effective choice.

7. Blake Lively in Christopher John Rogers Halter Dress and Christian Louboutin Heels

Blake Lively wore a mix of high-end and emerging designers for her It Ends with Us promotional tour.

Kicking off the press run on Sunday, Lively wore a playful creation by Christopher John Rogers, who won CFDA’s American Womenswear Designer of the Year just a year after winning the organization’s Emerging Designer Award in 2020.

Christopher John Rogers is known for using bright colors, eye-catching designs, and textures, and Lively’s outfit is a testament to the American designer’s aesthetics. Though this is perhaps my least favorite outfit from Lively’s promotional run, I must admit, she looks amazing in it.

She was clad in a flowy black-and-white Italian twill Polka Party maxi dress. It was slightly fitted at the bust with a plunging neckline, a halter tie with extra-long ribbons, and loose through the waist with a flared hem.

The dress was already too busy, but Lively upped the ante and considered adding a pair of colorful floral pants to match the event’s theme. She donned the loose-fitting “Petunia Floral” Jumbo Cargo Pants ($907 from $1,295) cut from cotton gabardine with jumbo magnolia blossoms. She wore the coordinating Petunia Floral jacket over her arms to go with it.

This outfit has a lot going on. Though she pulled it off, she should have stuck to just one print. Lively skipped the necklace in favor of bold gold earrings and rings, a great way to keep the rest of her look simple.

The playful combo was finished with the Christian Louboutin “Atonana” sandals, which Lively first wore in 2018. These gladiator-style strappy sandals, also spotted on Tessa Thompson and Winnie Harlow, are made of glossy patent leather and feature bubble-shaped embellishments that give them a whimsical finish.

They have a back zip for easy on and off, open toes, and 4-inch covered stiletto heels.

Unfortunately, we couldn’t fully appreciate the beauty of her Louboutin shoes as they were partially hidden beneath her pants.

Is It Ends with Us Based on a True Story?

It Ends with Us is based on Colleen Hoover’s 2016 novel of the same name. Hoover described the novel as “the hardest” she has ever written since it is about her parents’ relationship. Her mother was a victim of domestic abuse by Colleen’s father.

The movie, directed by Justin Baldoni from a script written by Christy Hall, centers on Lily Bloom (Blake Lively), a college graduate who starts a new life in Boston after overcoming a traumatic upbringing. She opens a flower shop there and meets a charming neurosurgeon, Ryle Kincaid (Justin Baldoni).

However, as their love deepens, Lily begins to discover a different side of Ryle that reminds her of her parents’ abusive relationship. When Lily’s first love, Atlas Corrigan (Brandon Sklenar), reappears, her relationship with Ryle takes a violent turn.

Out of jealousy, Ryle attempts to rape Lily. She gets knocked unconscious trying to defend herself and later escapes with Atlas’ help. When she discovers she’s pregnant with Ryle’s child, she keeps it a secret from him. Later, she realizes that she needs to strengthen herself to prevent the past from repeating itself, breaking the cycle of violence in her family.
