We’ve been spoiled by a host of amazing dresses throughout this awards season so far, so we naturally had lofty standards when it came time for this year’s Brit Awards. Sadly, nearly everyone had us turning away from our screens.
From boring dresses to cringe-worthy outfits, this event was a terrible disappointment in the fashion department. We can only count the looks we like on one hand.
Best-Dressed
1. Rita Ora in Alexandre Vauthier
Rita Ora at the Brit Awards 2017 held at the 02 in London on February 22, 2017.
This particular shade of olive wasn’t the best for a head-to-toe look, but we do like this embellished gown from Alexandre Vauthier’s Fall 2016 collection on the singer because it gave a sultry look to her.
2. Katy Perry in Atelier Versace
Katy Perry at the Brit Awards 2017 held at the 02 in London on February 22, 2017.
Hands-down the best look of the night was Katy Perry’s Atelier Versace ensemble. The sparkly dress and the matching blazer are from the brand’s Spring 2017 collection.
3. Nicole Scherzinger in Nicolas Jebran
Nicole Scherzinger at the Brit Awards 2017 held at the 02 in London on February 22, 2017.
We preferred the singer’s after-party look, but this Nicolas Jebran Fall 2017 blazer dress matched with thigh-high boots made a statement on the red carpet.
4. Renee Stewart
Renee Stewart at the Brit Awards 2017 held at the 02 in London on February 22, 2017.
The model wasn’t bad on the eyes in this long-sleeved fit and flare frock that she wore with a pair of strappy pumps.
Worst-Dressed
1. Ellie Goulding in Philipp Plein
Ellie Goulding at the Brit Awards 2017 held at the 02 in London on February 22, 2017.
The “Love Me Like You Do” singer’s Philipp Plein Pre-Fall 2017 halter gown would have looked great on her if it weren’t for the unflattering fit. We also think the bodice with its chain details was very uninspired.
2. Abbey Clancy in Haider Ackerman
Abbey Clancy at the Brit Awards 2017 held at the 02 in London on February 22, 2017.
The model didn’t look too thrilled in her photos. Later that night, she was overheard telling her friends how she hated the dress and how her stylist made a fool of her.
3. Clara Amfo
Clara Amfo at the Brit Awards 2017 held at the 02 in London on February 22, 2017.
The radio presenter looked awful in this blue leather dress. It was so awful, in fact, that not even a pair of cute Sophia Webster shoes could save this look.
4. Pixie Lott in Julien MacDonald
Pixie Lott at the Brit Awards 2017 held at the 02 in London on February 22, 2017.
We’re perplexed as to why the singer chose something as dated as this Julien MacDonald A/W 2015 dress. The fringe and the architectural bodice trends are so over.
