Leave it to Bella Hadid to pull off thigh-high boots with a formal gown.
The successful model pulled the feat off at the encouragement of Givenchy’s designer extraordinaire, Riccardo Tisci.

Diagnosed with Lyme disease, she hit the red carpet of the 2016 Met Gala, posing in front of the cameras in an unexpected combination.
For the evening, Bella wore a black strapless gown from Givenchy’s 2016 Spring/Summer collection.

The original runway look was also styled with thigh-high boots — the only discernable difference was that Bella opted for a pair with open toes.

While Bella killed it on the Met Gala red carpet, we can’t help but think her toe overhang was a bit awkward-looking.
Riccardo Tisci’s pointed-toe rendition of the look wins this one hands down.
Bella didn’t have to stand alone in those boots on the red carpet.
Big sister Gigi Hadid wasn’t the only one who brought a date to the prestigious ball — Bella posed with partner Abel Tesfaye, aka The Weeknd, who was slated to perform that night. The two have been going out for several months now.

Bella talked a bit with Vogue’s André Leon Talley about how long it took to prepare for the 2016 Met Gala. While walking up the stairs was surprisingly comfortable for the model, riding in the car was an entirely different experience.
