Behati Prinsloo is an Afrikaner, a South African ethnic group descended from predominantly Dutch settlers first arriving at the Cape of Good Hope in the 17th and 18th centuries. She grew up speaking Afrikaans and was educated in English.
Her ethnicity is a rich tapestry with Dutch and Frisian ancestry and French and German ancestry. Additionally, her lineage is sprinkled with distant Latvian, Finnish, and Kenyan roots, as well as remote connections to Portuguese, Norwegian, Belgian (Flemish and Walloon), Swiss-French, Swiss-German, Danish, Swedish, Chinese, Indian, Indonesian, Malagasy, and other African (including Angolan) heritage.

“I love jeans and a T-shirt. Adam gets me crazy sneakers and I have a closet full of shoes, but I usually wear Dr. Martens. I’ve never been the kind of girl who wears heels in the day – it makes me feel uncomfortable and I’m way too tall [5ft 11]. If I have an event then I’ll wear a pair, but not to just run errands,” she added about her height in an interview with Net-a-Porter.

Behati Prinsloo: A Red Carpet Return with Style and Grace
In November 2016, Behati Prinsloo was back in her heels and hitting up the red carpet eight weeks after giving birth to a baby girl. The model wasn’t out to party, mind you, but to be a supportive wife to her husband and Maroon 5 frontman, Adam Levine.
Behati traded her maternity clothes for a sexy party dress as she joined celebrities on the red carpet of the 2016 American Music Awards.

The Victoria’s Secret Angel finished her look with rings and a bracelet from Neil Lane, a necklace from XIV Karats, and a pair of “Cayenne” sandals from Aquazzura that we’ve previously spotted on Chrissy Teigen.

We love vintage clothes because they promote sustainable fashion, but we wish Behati’s dress didn’t look too vintage. The dress either needed ironing or was way too vintage to be saved.
Either way, Behati looked gorgeous with a post-pregnancy glow as she supported her other half. Adam Levine closed the night with Maroon 5 and the new single “Don’t Wanna Know.”
