Sure, those high heels are fierce to look at, but walking in them? That’s another story. Ashley Graham discovered one of the occupational hazards of modeling at the 2017 Time 100 Gala held at New York’s Lincoln Center on Tuesday. While posing for the cameras, the model inspiration caught her Jimmy Choo “Pearl 120” heel on the hem of her Nili Lotan “Maya” black satin maxi skirt ($675 at Barneys New York) and stumbled over herself on the red carpet.
Ashley was quick to regain her composure after the near-fall, and declared to the photographers, “you know, I’ve never fallen on the runway!”
Don’t worry, Ashley, you’re in good company. The 29-year-old catwalker can now count herself among veteran models such as Gigi Hadid, Agyness Deyn and Naomi Campbell — all who have taken nasty spills on the runway.
The rest of Ashley’s ensemble — a CAMI NYC lace-trimmed camisole, a Fleur du Mal corset belt and an Adornmonde choker — were faultless in the red carpet mishap, but they were still guilty of overcooking the model’s look.
