In terms of style, Anya Taylor-Joy rarely ever disappoints. Now that she’s back on the press circuit to promote her Valentine’s Day sci-fi movie, The Gorge, she’s showing off her impeccable sense of style by wearing not one, not two, but five gorgeous outfits—all of which are a testament to her signature style, which often combines edgy elements with a sense of vintage influence.

It is worth noting that, despite its Valentine’s Day release date, The Gorge isn’t your typical romantic film but an action survival movie. If that’s any indication, Anya’s press tour ensembles are anything but romantic. I must admit, though, that I adore her every look.

Without further ado, let’s take a look at Anya Taylor-Joy’s wardrobe on The Gorge press tour, which includes everything from shearling coats to mini-skirts to cycling shorts, not to mention her eye-catching shoe selection: knee-high boots, pumps, and kitten mules.

1. Anya Taylor Joy’s Fuzzy Alexander McQueen Coat and Nude Christian Louboutin Pumps

Anya Taylor-Joy isn’t one to wear something basic. When she’s feeling chilly, don’t expect her to wear simple outerwear; plain and boring are not in her vocabulary.

Kicking off The Gorge press tour, Anya was pictured leaving her NYC hotel in a $13,000 fuzzy beige shearling coat from Alexander McQueen’s Fall 2024 Ready-to-Wear collection. It’s so thick and fluffy that it covers Anya’s entire upper body.

This natural shearling jacket has an exaggerated padded collar and shoulders wrapping around her neck and upper arms. The sleeves and hem are so thick that it looks like a sheep is hugging her. It not only captures your attention right away, but it also makes you want to touch it again and again.

It’s hard to tell what’s underneath the coat, but she’s wearing a $2,430 high-waisted mini pencil skirt in sand raw suede, also by Alexander McQueen.

Although exposing her legs in a mini-skirt during winter is not wise, at least her jacket keeps her warm. I love this look, and with legs like Anya’s, I wouldn’t mind sacrificing comfort for style.

Of course, she had to keep the rest of her accessories simple to let the outerwear speak for itself.

I love her choice of the classic nude Christian Louboutin “Iriza” pumps with a d’Orsay silhouette, pointed toes, and stiletto heels. They’re straightforward, which is the best approach to keep the focus on the outfit’s main attraction. These pumps are available for $795 at Mytheresa.

Anya Taylor-Joy’s choice of nude Christian Louboutin “Iriza” pumps complements her ensemble and highlights the versatility and leg-lengthening benefits of nude heels. Nude shoes, matching the wearer’s skin tone, create a seamless line that elongates the legs, a style trick favored by many celebrities.

For instance, Jessica Chastain has been spotted wearing nude Louboutin “Pigalle” pumps, showcasing their universal appeal.

Additionally, nude heels are celebrated for their ability to pair effortlessly with various outfits, making them a staple in many wardrobes. Their neutral hue ensures they complement any ensemble, adding a touch of elegance and sophistication.

2. Anya Taylor-Joy’s Retro-Contemporary Celine Houndstooth Skirt Suit and Knee-High Boots

Arriving at the NBC studios, Anya Taylor-Joy switched up her look and opted for a retro-contemporary head-to-toe Celine ensemble.

She wore a cropped jacket and mini-skirt combo with a 1950s-style houndstooth pattern, giving the set a retro touch. It was a popular pattern in the mid-20th century and has since remained a classic in the industry.

Anya wore the $4,100 Verneuil wool tweed jacket with padded shoulders, two chest pockets, and Celine Paris-engraved buttons along the front and cuffs. It’s cut above the midriff, exposing her abs!

She paired it with its matching $1,750 Trapeze mini-skirt that sits low rise, further exposing her belly. It has two patch pockets with Celine Paris-engraved buttons, a side zip, and a hook-and-eye closure.

While her outfit’s pattern is appropriate for the colder season, the cropped length screams otherwise. I’m not complaining, though. I love how Anya pulled this off, and pairing the combo with knee-high boots made the look even better.

Her black Celine Fall 2024 knee-high boots gave the retro-esque ensemble a striking, contemporary flair. Made of black patent leather, these boots feature a silhouette reminiscent of horse-riding boots. They have an asymmetrical collar with a higher front than the back, a front panel with exposed stitching, and around 3-inch block heels.

3. Anya Taylor-Joy’s Go-Go Girls-Inspired 1960s Celine Skirt Suit and White Boots

Anya Taylor-Joy’s third look of the day was similar to the previous one. She again opted for a Celine creation, with a blazer and a mini skirt, but this time, without the houndstooth pattern.

She exuded a 1960s mod look in her gray wool co-ords with white ribbed trims. Clean lines and sophistication were the hallmarks of the ’60s, and I love how Anya’s ensemble mirrors that era’s sleek and minimalist style.

She wore the $3,800 Brompton jacket in gray wool with shoulder pads, two chest pockets, and half-sphere snap buttons etched with the Celine Paris logo. Like her previous Celine jacket, this comes with a flattering cropped fit.

She teamed the collarless jacket with its coordinating A-line mini-skirt, which sits high at the waist, giving onlookers a glimpse of her flat abs. Like the jacket, it has two patch pockets with flaps and Celine-engraved half-sphere buttons.

Allowing her two-piece Celine outfit to take center stage, Anya accessorized with minimal jewelry, including a bracelet and a few rings.

I commend Anya for finishing the look with white knee-high boots, enhancing the ensemble’s retro vibe and clean and polished aesthetic.

White knee-high boots like Anya’s, along with short dresses, are usually associated with the Go-Go girls of the 1960s. Their boots are typically leather or synthetic and have platforms and thick heels. Go-go girls wore them with mini skirts and dresses to flaunt their dancer legs.

Anya’s $1,800 Celine Les Bottes Celine Triomphe boots are made in Italy of calfskin leather with a high-shine patent finish. They have almond toes and knee-high shafts with a high-frequency triomphe 3D logo on the top front.

These slip-on boots are finished with chunky stacked leather heels and a rubber top lift.

Anya Taylor-Joy’s recent ensembles featuring white boots have sparked interest in how other celebrities incorporate this chic footwear into their wardrobes. For instance, Nicky Hilton made a bold statement at New York Fashion Week by pairing her tweed set with Marc Jacobs’ striking white strappy boots, demonstrating a blend of classic and contemporary styles.

Similarly, Bella and Gigi Hadid have been spotted in New York City embracing the white boot trend, each showcasing their unique fashion sensibilities. These instances highlight the versatility of white boots, whether styled with high-fashion ensembles or casual streetwear.

4. Anya Taylor-Joy’s Mysterious Black Celine Cape and Christian Louboutin Pumps

Anya Taylor-Joy decided to keep things modest and understated for her appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. At least, that’s what I thought.

Leaving her NYC hotel, Anya stepped out in another Celine creation. This time, she’s clad in a black wool cape, which gives her a sense of power and grandeur, as capes are often worn by royalty.

I love the minimalism and the enigmatic allure it gave Anya. However, as she strutted along the pavement, a gust of wind revealed what she was hiding underneath!

Her cloak blew open in the wind, revealing nothing but black knickers and stockings. Anya braved the cold NYC weather wearing the skimpy garment, which she paired with a sultry top featuring a racer front cutout and a halter neckline embellished with black cabochons.

I wonder how Anya managed to walk around confidently while wearing only her underpants in the cold. It’s definitely not for the faint of heart!

Wearing minimal jewelry, Anya rounded out her look with the black version of the Christian Louboutin “Iriza” pumps.

These timeless d’Orsay pumps gave the ensemble a polished and elegant final touch. They are made in Italy of black nappa leather with a patent finish.

They have pointed toes, d’Orsay sides that accentuate the contours at the insides of the foot, and 5-inch stiletto heels. You can get these pumps for $795 at Mytheresa.

Similarly, Gigi Hadid showcased the versatility of the “Iriza” pumps by complementing her gold ensemble with a beige specchio version at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards.

5. Anya Taylor-Joy’s Edgy Trapeze Jacket, Biker Shorts, and Kitten-Heeled Mules

Anya Taylor-Joy took an edgier approach for her final look of the day, fusing several trends to create a stylish, unorthodox layered ensemble ahead of her appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show.

This time, she wore a chocolate brown Loewe trapeze jacket made of nappa leather. It resembles a cape due to its trapeze silhouette but has zipped cuffs and raglan sleeves like regular jackets. It also features a press stud stand collar, an off-center zip closure, and side zip pockets.

I’m not exactly sure what she’s wearing underneath, but she chose to layer a black skirt with a bubble hem over black biker shorts for her bottoms.

The combination seems odd, but I’m intrigued by it. I like how the knee-length cycling shorts bring a sporty twist, the skirt adds a feminine charm, and the jacket gives the ensemble an edgy touch.

But what caught my eye was her footwear. These white mules have a round toe, a kitten heel, a twisted detail with a gold-tone accent, and a circular cutout on the vamp.

Though I’m not sure where she got them, I’m assuming they’re from Loewe because she’s wearing a jacket from the Spanish label, known for its unusual shoe designs.

Anya Taylor-Joy’s fashion journey is a testament to her versatility and bold style choices. From her daring, pantless looks during the “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” promotion to her ethereal appearance in a bedazzled Miss Sohee headdress, she consistently captivates audiences.
