Taylor-Joy’s presence at the Cannes Furiosa photocall further cemented my adoration for her—even more so than when she showed up in a Christian Dior ensemble at the film’s world premiere during the festival.
From her 1920s headdress to her contemporary skirt suit and minimalist heels, let’s delve deeper into Anya Taylor-Joy’s latest red-carpet ensemble.
The Intricate Flapper Chainmail Headpiece
Chainmail was a major element in Jil Sander’s Fall 2024 collection, and Anya’s headpiece—which covers her head like a swimming cap or bonnet—is made entirely of cream-colored chainmail.
Beaded fringes flow over her forehead and frame her lovely face. It harkens back to the luxury of 1920s flappers, lending a vintage feel to the sensual, modern skirt suit.
This is clearly my favorite part of her ensemble; it gives her a particular charm that makes her stand out.

The Contemporary Cream Bouclé Knit Skirt Suit
The Dune: Part 2 actress wore an entire outfit straight off Jil Sander’s Fall 2024 runway, but with the assistance of stylist Ryan Hastings, she owned the look.
Her ensemble was a striking blend of retro and contemporary, completely contrasting the classic Dior ball gown she wore to the Furiosa premiere in Cannes the day before.
Anya is stunning in any color—even black, which draws attention to her complexion. But she looks especially captivating in the co-ord set, which consists of a matching midi-length pencil skirt and cropped jacket made of creamy silk bouclé knit that goes well with her fair skin tone.

Though the knit fabric looks too thick and heavy for a warm spring day, I love the jacket’s cropped design, which showcases Anya’s enviably flat abs. It was initially shown on the runway paired with a long shirt and a sheer top, but I’m glad the Emma star adopted the jacket’s cropped style and made it uniquely her own.
The jacket is double-breasted and has long sleeves and flap chest pockets, while the bottom portion features a matching low-rise pencil skirt that falls right below her knees.
Designed by Jil Sander Creative Directors Lucie and Luke Meier, the ensemble has raw frayed hems that give it a dystopian vibe, in line with her upcoming film, Furiosa.

The Minimalistic Accessories
Though I don’t think Taylor-Joy’s dress needs additional jewelry, Ryan Hastings accessorized it with shimmering Tiffany & Co. crystals for a little extra sparkle.
He fastened a Tiffany & Co. Schlumberger Bird on a Rock diamond brooch on her right chest pocket and simply adorned her hands with a couple of rings, including the Soleste Pear-Shaped Halo Engagement Ring and the $22,300 Tiffany Victoria Alternating Ring in platinum with 0.79ct. marquise diamonds and 1.14ct. round brilliant diamonds.

I adore how the outfit was completed with minimalist heels, letting Anya’s stunning ensemble and natural beauty shine through.
Taylor-Joy slipped her feet into the Aquazzura “Olie” sandals in white leather, which perfectly complemented her ensemble. Crafted in Italy from smooth and supple nappa leather, these minimalist sandals have barely-there straps: a thin strap runs across the open toes, and a buckled ankle strap secures the foot.
They boast 4-inch thin heels, further enhancing Anya’s 5’8” height.

The Dramatic Glam
The Northman star never lets us down when it comes to the glam department, thanks to Gregory Russell for her hair and Georgie Eisdell for her makeup.
The intense smokey eyeshadow and black eyeliner made her eyes pop. She looked fantastic with her pink lipstick, though I would have preferred a dash of bright red lipstick to finish a Great Gatsby-inspired look.
Her golden locks were then styled in soft waves, cascading over her chest.
