Date Night Anecdotes: Anne’s Humorous Stories
Reflecting on their date nights, Anne playfully remarked, “We do. But we’re good. We have a good thing going. But sometimes, date nights just feel like sitting. When you have two young kids, just sitting, looking at each other, knowing that you don’t have to say anything, and it’s good.”
Kelly and Mark injected a dose of humor as they shared their ideal “date night,” involving watching Judge Judy and deliberating cases for the remainder of the evening in their home.
The conversation took an entertaining turn as the She Came To Me star introduced the concept of “never again” dates, recounting a memorable experience from her wedding anniversary celebration in 2021.

Anne reflected on the event, “It was our ninth wedding anniversary, and Adam did something great. He booked us a couple of nights at a spa hotel. It was wonderful – a beautiful but, you know, kind of crunchy place.”
However, the unexpected twist occurred when the Eileen actress stumbled upon a sauerkraut workshop flier at the hotel.
Recounting the “never again” moment, Anne humorously described her attempt to convince Adam to join the sauerkraut workshop, only to be met with his immediate dismissal.
The Les Miserables star recalled, “I said, ‘Honey, ooh, a sauerkraut workshop!’ and he’s like, ‘Yeah, no, why would we?'”
Undeterred by his initial reluctance, Anne persisted, saying, “I was like, ‘No, no, it’ll be good for us. It’s probiotic. We’re setting our lives up for the future.'”

Amusingly, she continued, “And he was like, ‘I’m gonna pass and take a nap,'” revealing that she eventually attended the workshop alone.
Describing the workshop as a simple act of “cutting cabbage and putting it in salt water in a mason jar,” The Princess Diaries actress soon realized that the sauerkraut would need four weeks to ferment.
Returning home with her fermented creation, she recounted with a laugh, “I took it back to Adam, and he was waking up from his nap, looking very well-rested, and I said, ‘Happy anniversary!'”
With shared laughter, Anne concluded, “And he said, ‘What’s that smell?’ And I said, ‘Our life for the next four weeks.'”
