Angelina Jolie made a stunning appearance at the State Dinner hosted by President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden in honor of South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and First Lady Kim Keon Hee at the White House.
For the grand event, the 47-year-old humanitarian arrived wearing an ivory gown with a V-shaped neckline and a floor-length flowy skirt with a discreet slit on the front. She also wore an ivory quilted jacket from Chanel for that understated yet elegant look.

The actress-slash-filmmaker accessorized her outfit with gold drop earrings, a beaded necklace, a clutch, and pointy-toe heels.
A bold red lip and her new blonde ombré hair styled in soft waves provided the finishing touches to her look.
As for her plus one, son Maddox Jolie-Pitt looked dapper in a classic black suit with a crisp white dress shirt and black tie. The 21-year-old actor rounded out his look with black leather dress shoes and black-framed eyeglasses.
A source told People magazine, “Asia-America relations are important to Angelina’s family. She and the children have had close ties to the region, including South Korea, for many years.”

Her son, Maddox, studied biochemistry at Yonsei University in Seoul, one of Korea’s top institutions, making this occasion poignant and important for the family. The university boasts a stunning campus featured in movies and Korean dramas and has produced a range of successful alumni, including politicians, award-winning authors, academics, and celebrities.
“Angelina has visited South Korea many times for her humanitarian and refugee advocacy over the past two decades, and as an artist,” the source continued. “Angelina and Maddox are honored to attend this State Dinner.”
A White House press release stated that the State Dinner “celebrates the 70th anniversary of the U.S.-ROK alliance, which is critical to advancing peace, stability, and prosperity for our two countries, the Indo-Pacific and around the world.”

The press release continued, “President Biden and President Yoon will highlight the importance and enduring strength of the ironclad U.S.-ROK alliance as well as the United States’ unwavering commitment to the ROK. The Presidents will discuss our shared resolve to deepen and broaden our political, economic, security and people-to-people ties.”
You may remember the viral video shared by an Instagram user where Angelina Jolie dropped off her son Maddox at Yonsei University in Seoul in August 2019.
As reported by Entertainment Tonight, Angelina was asked how long she was planning on staying in South Korea. “I leave today. Today’s the day I go home. I know. I’m trying not to cry,” she said to a chorus of “aww” from the group of students.
A source told ET that Angelina “loves [Maddox] and is so proud of how wise he is beyond his years.”

According to the same source, the mom of six has always encouraged her son to travel, learn as many languages as he can, and to go to university overseas. At Yonsei University, Maddox studied biochemistry and learned the Korean language to prepare for it.
“Maddox is very attached to his mom,” the source said. “She’s always stood by him.”
