In a rare sighting, Angelina Jolie and her daughter Vivienne were pictured at The Outsiders Broadway musical’s opening night on Thursday at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre in New York City.
I anticipated it, though, since Jolie, the musical producer, revealed last year that she had recruited her 15-year-old daughter Vivienne as her assistant for her Broadway project. What surprised me was Vivienne’s commitment to her work.

Clad in a gold gown with a tan cape, Jolie said in an interview with People during the opening night that her youngest daughter takes her role as an assistant on the production “very, very seriously.”
“She’s been a really tough assistant,” said Jolie, adding that Vivienne “corrects” her. “She’ll say, ‘Didn’t you read the memo? We have to do this. We have to go through this.’”

Mother-Daughter Bonding in Broadway
The mother-and-daughter duo looked beautiful; Vivienne clearly inherited her mom’s strong genes! However, their red-carpet fashion choices couldn’t be more different.
Jolie looked majestic in a cape and a golden dress. In contrast, Vivienne dressed down for the occasion in a blue utilitarian jumpsuit, or more like mechanic coveralls, coordinating with composer-writer Justin Levine.
I think the jumpsuit could have been easily enhanced with a few jewels and heels, at the very least. Vivienne, however, chose to finish off her casual red-carpet ‘fit with pale blue Converse sneakers. Her brunette hair looked unstyled to me, as if she had just brushed it to one side. She also opted for a natural beauty look, applying very light makeup.
But I get the reference since The Outsiders tells the story of working-class Tulsa “greasers.”

Angelina’s Regal Appearance
Vivienne’s mom, Angelina Jolie, opted for her usual regal red carpet style, wearing a brown cape over a golden silk gown. Though there was no connection to the musical, I love how Angelina stayed true to her style.
Her $3,990 minimalist dress hails from her sustainable fashion project with Chloe under her Atelier Jolie label. Its deadstock hammered silk satin enhances the classic slip-dress style, and the delicate spaghetti straps add to the romantic vibe of the look.
Its snug waist and flared skirt perfectly accentuate Jolie’s feminine form. I adore the scalloped edges along the neckline, which reference a Maison signature and add to the ensemble’s feminine silhouette.
Draped across her shoulders, the light brown cape cascaded down to her legs and was fastened with a gemstone around her neck.

I like how Angelina coordinated the rest of her accessories. She slipped her feet into a pair of brown-maroon peep-toe heels and further accessorized with chunky geometric gold drop earrings, which I think are also part of the Atelier Jolie line.
Her light pink-manicured hands were adorned with a cocktail ring, and a small black Dior Caro Slim pouch from the French fashion house’s Fall 2023 collection held her red carpet essentials.
Of course, Angelina didn’t disappoint glam-wise. She wore her tresses in bouncy waves flowing around her shoulders. Her lovely blue eyes were enhanced with eyeliner and mascara, while her iconic plump lips were accentuated with vibrant red lipstick.
