In February 2016, Chloë Grace Moretz discussed her opinions on the presidential elections and revealed Hillary Clinton as her candidate of choice at Delta Air’s Grammy Weekend celebration. A few months later, she spoke on the final night of the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, encouraging millennials to register to vote.
About to vote in her first presidential election, the actress has come a long way since her memorable portrayal of Chelsea Lutz in the 2005 remake of The Amityville Horror. Unsurprisingly, Moretz is a fan of scary movies; the genre allows her to delve into the complexities of fear and human relationships, much like her approach to activism—tackling difficult issues head-on.

Chloë Grace Moretz shared with Popsugar in March 2019 that she has always been drawn to darker roles, starting with The Amityville Horror at age five and continuing with films like Let Me In, Carrie, and Suspiria.
“Well, the first film I ever did was The Amityville Horror when I was 5-and-a-half years old. And moving forward, doing Let Me In and then doing Carrie and then Suspiria and this . . . I’ve always loved, I think, the darkness,” she said.

“Especially in cinema, I think, the genre’s a really wonderful way to depict interpersonal relationships but to also fill seats with a breadth of audience members that are going to buy a ticket no matter what because they’re massive fans of horror. But then taking in really intricate and intense storytelling, which I think the genre really lends itself well to if done correctly,” she added.
Born on February 10, 1997, in Atlanta, Georgia, Chloë Grace Moretz was eight years old when she attended the premiere of The Amityville Horror in April 2005 and was just seven years old when she filmed the movie in 2004.
