Amanda Seyfried was her usual striking self at last Tuesday’s screening of her latest movie, Lovelace, at the Museum of Modern Art in NYC.

The Jennifer’s Body actress met our expectations of her fashion sense—gorgeous tumbling blonde locks, flawless makeup, and impeccably styled attire.

But when we saw closeup pictures of the navy strapless dress on Amanda, we had to do a double-take. Could it be? Could those cascading ruffles on the skirt be made of denim?

A look at Amanda’s recent gig as the star of Givenchy’s latest ad campaign confirms it: the dress is from the Givenchy Resort 2014 collection and is 100% denim. Her sandals, by the way, are Givenchy, too. She opted for defined curly hair and striking red lipstick.

If it weren’t for the jeans-style copper thread stitching on the bodice and the ruffles’ edges, Amanda could’ve fooled us into thinking that her dress was made of much more expensive fabric.

This is why we love denim—it can be worn as pedestrian or haute couture and looks good. Snag the style of Amanda Seyfried’s Givenchy dress with these photo-op-ready dresses, which we also can’t believe are denim!
