Who said you have to spend a fortune to channel some Cannes style? Certainly not Tom Lenk. The comedian recently gave us a new twist on some of the dresses from this year’s Cannes Film Festival, using everyday objects to create “look for less” posts on Instagram. We have to adit, the “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” alumnus is definitely creative!
Nicole Kidman
One of the most stunning dresses we saw on this year’s Cannes film fest was Nicole Kidman’s raffia-embroidered Dior gown, which reportedly took 1,000 hours to construct. The dress featured a textured mix of raffia and earthy threads that created garden-like illusion.
Tom reconstructed this look with a cork board and green moss. He also used charger cords to copy Nicole’s slinky shoulder straps.

Gwendoline Christie
“Game of Thrones” star Gwendoline Christie wore a printed Fendi midi dress at the photo call for “Top of the Lake: China Girl.” The pretty dress is from the Spring/Summer 2017 collection, and channeled a very glamorous bohemian vibe. To recreate this look, Tom used colored markers and drew on paper to get the print pattern of the dress.

Julianne Moore
Julianne Moore rocked a modern shirtdress look with a green Sonia Rykiel Spring 2017 dress. The understated look featured billowing sleeves and a waist ribbon detail that added a hint of femininity to the shapeless dress. For Tom’s “look for less” post, he used crumpled green paper and drew in some buttons for added detailing.
