Zoë Kravitz earned rave reviews for her Oscar de la Renta gown at the 2017 Met Gala. Her custom look displayed the perfect juxtaposition of Zoe’s signature cool-girl edge and the designer’s elegant romanticism.

This year’s theme was a tricky thing to pull off, as evidenced by the varying attempts at avant-garde fashion. However, Zoe embodied the Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons spirit beautifully without losing her own sense of style. Zoe joined fellow celebs Helen Lasichanh, Rihanna, Lily Collins and Cara Delevingne at the event.

Zoe’s strapless column gown featured swaths of on-trend pale pink and contrasting black duchesse satin. The dress also came with a dramatic cape adorned with real black roses. This whole look was a stunning homage to the structured designs of Rei Kawakubo, and ended up as a memorable fashion moment for Zoe.

The 28-year-old actress and singer kept her styling minimal, opting for simple makeup and Christian Louboutin black suede heels. Tacori jewels provided some sparkle, while her blonde pixie cut added sultry edge to her elegant look.
