Gal Gadot and Rachel Zegler made quite a statement at the world premiere of Snow White, which The Guardian refers to as “Disney’s exhaustingly awful reboot.”
Channeling their roles in the controversial live-action adaptation of the 1937 animated film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Gadot dressed in black like the jealous evil queen character she’s portraying, while Zegler looked like a princess in her blush pink gown.

The world premiere of Disney’s “Snow White” at the El Capitan Theatre was not as elaborate as expected, coinciding with the controversies surrounding the Marc Webb-directed movie.
Despite the scaled-back premiere, I commend Gal Gadot and Rachel Zegler for putting on a united front and dressing their best! Both women are stunningly beautiful and elegant!
Now, let’s turn our attention to the stunning fashion moments these leading ladies brought to the premiere.
Gal Gadot Embraces Dark Glamour in Gothic Black Lace Chloe Dress and Nude Heels
In many Disney stories, black is usually associated with the villain’s ominous persona. But despite the color’s dark and intimidating reputation, Gal Gadot’s black lace dress at the premiere made her look elegant and radiant rather than evil, proving that the color can also have a glamorous connotation.
The stunning see-through lace dress, designed by creative director Chemena Kamali, is from Chloe’s Fall 2025 collection. It perfectly complements Gal Gadot’s enviable figure.
The flattering bodice gracefully clings to her curves. Its modest square neckline, supported by thin spaghetti straps, gives the ensemble a refined touch. The delicate floral lace fabric adds texture and elegance, while the nude lining provides a hint of coverage.
I like how it effortlessly highlights Gadot’s curves and proportions before falling into a dramatic black floor-length skirt. The skirt has a short, tiered ruffle layer that adds volume and definition, creating a unique and dimensional look.

Glamorous Finishing Touches: Jewelry and Footwear Choices
Staying true to the ensemble’s gothic glamour, Gal Gadot, who was recently honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, accessorized with jewelry from Tiffany & Co. This includes a long Elsa Peretti necklace featuring a gold bean pendant adorned with black tassels, suspended on a long black silk cord.
She also wore the $6,900 Elsa Peretti Cabochon ring with green jade and the Schlumberger Diamond Stitches ring, set with 3.5ct. of brilliant round diamonds.
Wearing her hair straight and tucked behind her ears, Gadot completed her look with nude sandals, exposing her toes. They appear fastened by an ankle strap and are completed with tall heels that elongate her already striking 5’10” frame.
While black gowns are typically paired with black heels for a classic and sophisticated look, I prefer the added contrast of nude sandals. They complement the look, adding personality and a more modern vibe to the outfit than traditional black sandals.

Rachel Zegler Channels Her Inner Princess in Custom Blush Pink Christian Dior Gown and Heels
Zegler, meanwhile, channeled her inner princess, contrasting Gadot in a blush pink strapless gown designed for her by Christian Dior’s creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri.
I like how the pale pink hue of the dress contrasts beautifully with Zegler’s warm tan complexion. Unfortunately, her skin tone has been the subject of much criticism, with many pointing out that it does not match Snow White’s.
The gown has a corset-style bodice adorned with charming butterflies on the structured bra cups. It comes with a tonal belt to highlight Rachel’s already snatched waist and a drop waist that flows into a voluminous taffeta pleated skirt, adding a touch of elegance and drama to the look.

Elegant Sparkle: Chopard Jewelry and a Timeless Updo
The styling was spot on. I love the addition of Chopard diamonds, as they provide the perfect amount of glitz without going overboard. Zegler’s Chopard Green Carpet tennis necklace sits elegantly on her collarbone. She paired it with dangling diamond drop earrings, Chopard’s Magical Setting ring, and Precious Lace Vague ring, elevating the overall look.
Her Chopard jewelry and elegant updo create a chic and glamorous aesthetic. The only downside is that her shoes are not visible, but apparently, she’s wearing custom Dior sandals.

While their fashion choices dazzled on the red carpet, the buzz surrounding Snow White extends beyond style—sparking debates over casting, themes, and real-world controversies.
Snow White Movie Controversies: From Stars’ Differing Political Positions to Modernizing Themes
Beyond the differences in their fashion choices, the two actresses are reportedly at odds over their opposing political views. As an Israeli, Gadot has openly backed Israel. On the other hand, Zegler, who is Latina, has shown solidarity with Palestine.
In addition to their personal disagreements, Rachel Zegler’s casting sparked a wave of racist backlash. Her looks were criticized for departing from the conventional European representation of Snow White. Many believe Zegler’s casting challenges traditional depictions of Disney princesses, highlighting evolving perspectives in the film industry.
To add fuel to the fire, Zegler faced criticisms over her comments on the traditional themes of Disney’s Snow White. She disagreed with the emphasis on the “love story with a guy who literally stalks her” and the “dated” representation of a passive female lead, stressing that her interpretation of Snow White will showcase her leadership abilities.
She told Variety, “I just mean that it’s no longer 1937. We absolutely wrote a ‘Snow White’ that . . . she’s not going to be saved by the prince, and she’s not going to be dreaming about true love; she’s going to be dreaming about becoming the leader she knows she can be.”
