While these heels are undoubtedly a show-stopper, they don’t look like the most comfortable choice—proving once again that fashion often comes with a price.
Although their attention-grabbing features could have detracted from the elegance of Erivo’s white gown, the shoes’ dramatic appearance complemented the look nicely. I love how they enhanced the visual appeal and made the ensemble more striking without distracting the gown.

Cynthia’s custom white Louis Vuitton column gown is cut from an intricate white floral lace and features a strapless bodice with what appears to be a see-through lace breastplate. The romantic, feminine gown flawlessly hugs her figure, cinching in at the waist and cradling her hips before falling to a tea-length hem with a short train.

I commend her stylist, Petra Flannery, for keeping the rest of the look simple but chic. She wore the minimalist Classic Round Brilliant Diamond stud earrings, the Classic Eternity Band, and the “Embrace” necklace, which features a magnificent 2.91-carat oval white diamond set in a hand-carved jet bezel and suspended from a string of rough and brilliant diamonds.

Lupita Nyong’o’s eclectic, often daring, and quirky style has always impressed me. However, since becoming a global ambassador for Chanel late last year, her relationship with fashion has taken a new turn, and I must say that I am even more in love with her style now.
At this year’s BAFTAs, Nyong’o exuded ladylike elegance in her polished ensemble, which included a pair of black satin platform pumps.
Classic and refined, Lupita’s Chanel pumps are cut from silky smooth satin that feels luxurious. A faint sheen adds a hint of glam, making them perfect for evening wear. They have thick platforms and high-block heels that boost height while keeping the foot comfortable. The almond toe caps are flattering, making the feet appear long and slender, while the dainty Mary Jane straps add visual interest and femininity.

She then accentuated her black-manicured hands with two striking 18k white gold rings, each exuding opulence and craftsmanship. The Lustrous Vow Ring featured two elegantly intertwining bands, symbolizing unity and adorned with 3.33 carats of radiant emerald-cut diamonds. Complementing it was the Thick Diamond Band, a statement piece encrusted with a continuous row of dazzling 3.81-carat round-cut diamonds and 7.55-carat emerald-cut diamonds, adding an extra layer of brilliance to her already mesmerizing ensemble.
Nyong’o was at the BAFTAs supporting her animated sci-fi film The Wild Robot, which was nominated for Best Animated Film, Best Children’s and Family Film, and Best Original Score.

Selena Gomez, up for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Emilia Pérez, looks divine in her Schiaparelli ensemble. Her shoes were particularly eye-catching, which is no surprise given they were from the Paris fashion house Schiaparelli, renowned for its daring, avant-garde designs.
Hailing from the Fall 2024 Couture collection, the pumps are cut from luxurious black velvet and boast a tiny triangular cutout at the toe and a unique Y-strap design wrapping the ankle and culminating in a buckle closure.
I love how the black velvet adds a rich and luxurious feel, nicely contrasting against her flawless complexion. However, the crystal-embellished ball at the bottom of the stiletto heel draws my eye. It’s the perfect touch to complement her dress and add sparkle and glamour to the outfit.

Sel wore them with a custom Schiaparelli gown, heavily embellished with shimmering silver sequins, crystals, rhinestones, and tassels for a “vibrating” effect. Creative Director Daniel Roseberry added a touch of vintage sensuality by incorporating black velvet off-the-shoulder sleeves, which were slightly ruched to fall off her shoulders and create its plunging Bardot neckline.
To top it off, the fitted silhouette looks immaculate as it flawlessly hugs Selena’s figure, showing off her trimmer figure.
This spellbinding dress doesn’t need any additional jewelry, but Selena and her stylist, Erin Walsh, decided to enhance the sparkles with Tiffany & Co. jewelry. I like that she didn’t wear a necklace with it, as that would have detracted from the dress’s already shimmery sequined fabric.

She instead wore the $28,400 Diamond Vine Band platinum ring with 1.87ct. round brilliant and marquise diamonds, another diamond ring from the celebrity-favorite jewelry brand, and her Abil Barret engagement ring.
Additionally, she wore two vintage diamond bracelets and a pair of platinum diamond earrings, all from the Tiffany & Co. archives.
Selena Gomez isn’t the only celebrity embracing Schiaparelli’s avant-garde footwear. At the 2025 Critics Choice Awards, Demi Moore captivated audiences by pairing her structured Schiaparelli gown with navy satin pumps from the brand’s Fall 2024 Haute Couture collection. These pumps featured sharp pointed toes, low-cut vamps, and distinctive crystal ball accents on the vamp and heel, adding a unique flair to her ensemble.

Another BAFTAs Best Supporting Actress nominee, Ariana Grande, commanded attention as she walked the red carpet in the Jimmy Choo “Romy” pumps, one of the shoe label’s most sought-after styles.
This classic pair, made in Italy from soft, supple suede, features a pointed toe and modern stiletto heel, adding several inches to Ariana’s petite 5’1/2” frame. Their classic silhouette makes them an endlessly wearable and versatile accessory, perfect for pairing with any outfit.
While I would have preferred something more eye-catching, the Romy pumps were a great choice as they drew attention to Ariana’s dress instead. Besides, her shoes weren’t that visible from underneath her gown, so keeping the shoes simple was probably the best choice.

Ariana wore a custom two-tone Louis Vuitton gown that was nothing short of magnificent. It featured a form-fitting black velvet bodice with a navel-deep plunging neckline that looked elegant and sophisticated rather than tacky. The alluring side cutouts mirrored the neckline, showing a hint of her side boobs in a tasteful yet eye-catching way.
The lower portion of the gown was a dramatic, billowing skirt made of pleated taffeta in a peachy-pink color, a nod to her role as Glinda in Wicked. It was layered to create a poofy, full effect, with a structured top layer giving the ensemble a whimsical and playful touch.
I adore the striking contrast between the peach taffeta skirt and the black bodice, which made for an eye-catching and visually interesting look.

In a surprising twist, the Swarovski ambassador, who recently released a 16-piece collection with the jewelry brand, accessorized her look with diamonds from Chaumet instead.
The stunning Valse Impériale necklace sits elegantly on her chest, glinting with a 2.50-carat pear-shaped diamond and paved with 82 brilliant-cut diamonds of 9.30 carats. She wore the matching Aigrette earring, 4 Akoya cultured pearls, 17 brilliant-cut diamonds, and the Amour D’aigrette Solitaire ring.
While Ariana Grande’s Romy pumps remained subtly tucked beneath her gown, the Jimmy Choo ‘Romy’ pumps have been a red carpet staple for many celebrities. Notably, Chloë Grace Moretz donned a lace version of these pumps at Variety’s Power of Young Hollywood event, complementing her elegant ensemble.

Pamela Anderson looked the epitome of glamour as she arrived on the red carpet in an all-white look from Jacquemus.
I was particularly drawn to her shoes, the “Cubisto” pumps from Jacquemus’ Les Sculptures collection, because of their understated yet striking details.
For one, the geometric angled pointed toe, with its slightly pressed-down appearance, is a playful and unique touch. The dainty ribbon also gives the pump a hint of feminine glitz. If you have a keen eye, you’ll notice the mismatched heels—one square and one round—bringing a quirky element to the overall design.
They are 4 inches high and fastened to the feet with buckled slingback straps. At Farfetch, they’re on sale for $571 (down from $950).
