Selena Gomez’s timeless style and a hint of contemporary flair never fails to wow me. Often veering toward mature elegance, Sel immediately caught my attention when she arrived at the Jimmy Kimmel Live studios on Wednesday, June 26, wearing a Versace dress.
Gomez was pictured holding hands with her grandparents, David and Debbie Cornett, and exuded confidence as she put a sultry spin on LBD. Though some could argue that the attire is too mature for her, not many realize that she’s no longer the Disney child star we know; she’s already 31, turning 32 in July—though I have to say, she does appear younger than her age.

Putting a Sultry Spin on Versace LBD
Selena Gomez made a guest appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, where she talked about everything—from having a crush on Paul Rudd to her recent Emilia Perez Best Actress win at the Cannes Film Festival to the Wizards of Waverly Place reboot to her experience working with Only Murders in the Building co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short, who is this week’s guest host for Kimmel.
Benny Blanco’s girlfriend looked amazing in the Versace dress that her stylist Erin Walsh pulled straight out of the Italian luxury fashion house’s Fall 2024 collection. It’s giving Wednesday Addams, in my opinion, but with a seductive edge from the sheer element that’s visible at the decolletage and long sleeves.
The sheer panel is incorporated into the dress’s crepe-bustier bodice, accentuating Selena’s body flawlessly. From the sweetheart neckline down, the garment resembles a classic black formal dress, complete with gleaming large Medusa buttons along the center front, suit-style pockets, and a modest midi-length skirt with a center slit.

The contrasting white swallowtail collar and white cuffs enhance the dress’s formal appeal. But my favorite part is how it fits snugly and drapes over Selena’s hips before transitioning into a demure column skirt.
The exquisite dress was modeled after an archival Atelier Versace creation that Christy Turlington wore to the house’s Spring/Summer 1993 fashion presentation at The Ritz in Paris.
Reviving the style, Gigi Hadid, the it-girl supermodel of our time, modeled Selena’s dress on the Versace Fall 2024 runway during Milan Fashion Week in February. Going for a grungy biker-chic feel, Gigi gave the dress a different vibe by unfastening a few buttons on the skirt to show off her legs, accessorizing the look with dramatic eyeliner and black leather gloves.

Classy with Simon G Jewelry
In contrast to Hadid, Selena wore the dress with elegance, accessorizing it with Simon G’s 18k white gold and ethically sourced diamond jewelry. Although I adore Hadid’s stylish interpretation of the dress, Selena’s more refined appearance is rather lovely.
Taylor Swift’s best friend wore the $8,010 Drop Earrings, which feature eye-catching clusters of shimmering white diamonds totaling 2.36 carats.
A few rings adorned her well-groomed hands: the $4,510 Simon-Set Fashion Ring with 1.01ct. baguette diamonds; the $6,930 Right Hand Ring layered with natural diamonds; the $3,080 Anniversary Ring set with 0.56ct. brilliant baguette diamonds; and the $7,260 Anniversary Ring set with three rows of 2ct. diamonds.

Black Leather Accents
Allowing her dress and jewelry to take center stage, Selena kept the rest of her accessories simple but with a touch of edge.
She stored her essentials in the $340 “Nirvana” bag by Aupen, a Singapore-based label with a cult following.
Its distinctive asymmetrical top makes it instantly identifiable, and the braided shoulder strap embellished with the detachable Aupen bag charm enhances its uniqueness.

The Lose You to Love Me singer teamed her dress with slingback pumps from the Italian house, showing her love of Versace. She wore the “Gianni” pumps made of shiny patent leather with sharp pointed toes and stiletto heels, creating sleek, minimalist lines.
They have the iconic Nastro Gianni bow at the vamps, giving them a coquette feel, complete with gold-and-black Medusa hardware with Greca engraving.
If you want to add them to your wardrobe, you better get these timeless shoes at Mytheresa right away; they’re currently on sale for $626 (down from $895). You can also buy the Versace Gianni 80mm leather pumps at Farfetch.

Glamorous Hair and Makeup
I applaud Selena’s glam squad for pulling off her gorgeous look.
The Another Cinderella Story star had extra-long extensions from Great Lengths, which Marissa Mariano styled in a glossy blowout. She then parted her hair to the side, giving her a glamorous appearance.
Of course, Selena wore makeup from her own cosmetics brand, Rare Beauty. Melissa Murdock gave her a bronzed appearance using the Rare Beauty Positive Light Liquid Luminizer in Captivate. For a sun-kissed effect, she added some freckles using a brow pen.
Enhancing the actress’s cat eyes, she used the Perfect Strokes Liquid Liner in Black and the Black Universal Mascara. A touch of the Glossy Lip Balm in Nearly Neutral and the Kind Words Lipstick in Bold completed her look.
