I have always been impressed by Elle Fanning’s elegant red carpet style, and her most recent ensemble—a vintage dress that accentuated her hourglass figure—is no exception.
On Thursday night, Elle attended The House of Suntory’s celebration of Roku Gin’s new “Come Alive with the Seasons” campaign vignette, where she portrays a party host. She dressed to impress as the evening’s headliner, opting for a vintage John Galliano look.

The House of Suntory Roku Gin Campaign
The 26-year-old Maleficent actress has been selected to star in The House of Suntory’s Roku Gin “Come Alive with the Seasons” campaign, inviting gin lovers to experience the best of every season amidst a rapidly becoming more digitally dominated society.
The Japanese multinational beverage company celebrates the moments from the four seasons using six Japanese botanicals “picked at peak freshness.” Distilled in Japan, Roku Gin blends fresh and floral flavors, achieved by combining eight traditional gin botanicals with six Japanese botanicals: Sakura flower and Sakura leaf from spring, Sencha tea (green tea) and Gyokuro tea (refined green tea) from summer, Sanshō pepper from autumn, and Yuzu peel from winter. This expresses the Japanese idea of “Shun,” or the time when nature is alive and most vibrant.

In support of the brand’s new campaign, film director Sofia Coppola and actress Elle Fanning have reunited to create a short film that tells the story of Roku Gin.
Coppola and Fanning have previously collaborated on Somewhere (2010) and The Beguiled (2017).
A Masterclass in Grace and Elegance
Elle Fanning tends to gravitate toward polished and timeless ensembles—a look she has mastered throughout time.
I adore her signature style, a combination of classic sophistication and feminine flair, which is well captured in her most recent public appearance.

Embracing the early aught’s body-contouring style, Dakota Fanning’s younger sibling donned a clingy silk slip dress with a low-cut neckline held in place by crisscrossing spaghetti straps. Although her stylist, Samantha McMillen, sourced the dress from John Galliano’s Spring 2004 collection, I love how it was tailored to perfectly accentuate Elle’s curves.
It fitted snugly around the bodice and gently flared at the thighs, creating a lovely trumpet silhouette. The center slit added a hint of sultriness, and the delicately pleated skirt enhanced the romantic touch of the cherry blossom embroidery.
I think it’s the perfect clothing for the occasion, going nicely with the flower decorations at 528 West 22nd Street and the Japanese botanicals featured in Roku Gin.

Minimalistic Accessories
In keeping with the look’s elegance, Fanning opted to keep her accessories minimalistic—no earrings, no necklace, just a classic gold Cartier Juste Un Clou bracelet. And I have to say, I admire her for sticking with showcasing her form and outfit.
Although not particularly fancy, her shoes went well with her beautiful dress. They are crafted from shiny blush patent leather and have sleek crisscross straps, buckled ankle straps, and square open toes. The heels added around four inches to Fanning’s already impressive 5’9” height.

Retro Hairstyle and a Flushed Makeup Look
Elle had her chin-length blonde bob fashioned with flipped ends to continue the vintage feel of her ensemble.
She then applied pink cosmetics to give herself a flushed appearance, although I’m not sure if it was because of the makeup or if she just had too much to drink. Nevertheless, she looked stunning!
