Emma Stone, the recipient of this year’s BAFTA for Best Actress, made sure all eyes were on her by dressing in a striking orange gown by Louis Vuitton, no less.

As an ambassador for the luxury French fashion house since 2017, it is not entirely unexpected that the actress chose a Louis Vuitton outfit for one of the most celebrated evenings in the British film industry.

Stone bagged the Best Actress in a Leading Role for playing Bella Baxter in the black comedy fantasy movie Poor Things, which also won Best Costume Design, Best Makeup & Hair, Best Production Design, and Best Special Visual Effects.

A Gown That Speaks Volumes: Detailing Emma’s Ensemble

Emma Stone stood out among the sea of black, white, and metallic ensembles and made an impression in an eye-catching orange gown as she went up the stage to collect her award.

The La La Land star commanded attention in her striking one-shoulder gown, custom-designed by Louis Vuitton creative director Nicolas Ghesquiere. It had a floral silk jacquard bustier bodice, side buttons, and a dramatic balloon puff sleeve that echoed the exaggerated silhouettes of Bella Baxter’s contemporary Victorian-era costumes in Poor Things.

The lower half of her gown was a see-through organza silk skirt that revealed a hint of her underwear. It was finished with a perfectly stitched quilted jacquard hem that touched the floor.

Red Carpet Revelations: Showcasing Style and Elegance

While walking on the red carpet at The Royal Festive Hall, the Oscar double nominee lifted the bottom of her skirt to reveal her coordinating orange heels. She wore a pair of open-toed satin heels that were secured by slim straps around her ankles. Their towering stilettos gave her an extra few inches of height.

Petra Flannery styled Emma Stone’s magnificent BAFTAs look. She kept her jewelry to a minimum to draw attention to her opulent gown, accessorizing her outfit with a yellow gold and platinum diamond necklace, diamond stud earrings, a diamond ring, and a garnet and diamond ring from Louis Vuitton’s High Jewelry collection.

Renee Witherspoon, Ellen Pompeo, Claire Danes, Zoe Saldana, and Emilia Clarke are just a few of Petra Flannery’s well-known clientele.

Emma’s Beauty Regimen: A Perfect Match for Her Gown

Mara Roszak fashioned Emma’s orange-red hair in a stylish braided ponytail with a few wavy strands framing her face, a subtle nod to Stone’s now-iconic Poor Things character, Bella Baxter.

Rachel Goodwin, meanwhile, complemented Stone’s ensemble with a warm, peachy glow using Lisa Eldridge makeup.

She prepped her skin with the Flora Botanical Cream Serum and Aloe Hyaluronic Moisture Boost from Monastery Made and allowed the combination to settle for five minutes before applying the Attar Floral Repair Concentrate on her cheekbones.

She then used the Lisa Eldridge Seamless Skin Foundation in shade 3 and the Elevated Glow Highlighter in Crystal Nebula to give her a peachy glow. Her jade green eyes were accentuated with the Seamless Glide Pencil in Burnt Umber applied to her lash line, the Liquid Lurex Eyeshadow in Maya on her lids, and the Eyeshadow Palette in Muse on her crease.

Goodwin used the Enhance and Define Lip Pencil in Intrigue and the True Velvet Lip Color in Velvet Cinnabar on her lips to complete her gorgeous glam.

A Heartfelt Speech: Emma’s Tribute to Her Mother

While accepting her award on stage, Emma Stone took the time to express her gratitude to her mother for giving her life.

“I just want to say this in case I don’t ever get a chance again. I really want to thank my mom because she’s the best person I know in the world and she inspires me every single day and she’s always made me believe this kind of crazy idea that I could do something like this and I’m beyond grateful.”

“Without her, none of this exists, including my life, so thanks for that, too, Mom. Thank you so much,” she continued.

Emma also thanked screenwriter Tony McNamara for giving her the line “I must go punch that baby” as it was “life-changing for me,” she joked. She also thanked director Yorgos Lanthimos “for our friendship and for the gift of Bella.”
