There’s the good, the bad, the ugly, and then there’s the silly. These dresses fall into that vague category — something like a weird print or an odd styling choice keeps them from being good, but a quirky appeal or the wearer’s rockin’ attitude also keeps them from being completely bad.

We spotted quite a few this March and think they should not be missed. Which ones would you place in the good pile, and which would you banish to the lousy pile?
1. Sally Hawkins in Printed Bed Sheets
We love how Sally Hawkins’ shirtdress flows, and we could even get into the fan-shaped clutch, but how they’re made from the same printed fabric reminds us too much of matching bed sheets.

2. Jessica White in Tacky Dress
It’s easy to dismiss model Jessica White’s revealing Nicolas Jebran gown as tacky, but you must admire her fierce model poses and sculpted body.

Another must-mention from Jessica White is the white cape shirt tunic she wore to the 2014 Rodeo Drive Walk of Style Awards. We get her tunic’s avant-garde appeal, but those patterned legging-boots hybrids are beyond comprehension.

3. Whoopi Goldberg in Striped Black-and-White Stockings
It’s not how Whoopi Goldberg layered a shirt under a black strapless dress that got her on our list.
It’s how she wore striped black-and-white stockings and ruby-red platform pumps under them! Whoopi’s Taylor Says “Topeka” pumps have The Wizard of Oz-themed drawings on the soles, which undoubtedly inspired Whoopi’s literally witchy styling choice. Never change, Whoopi. Never change.

4. Gail Maidman in Stephen Sondheim Dress
It was the opening night of Stephen Sondheim’s Broadway musical, Sweeney Todd, and New York socialite Gail Maidman decided to honor the occasion by wearing a strapless dress printed with Sondheim’s faces all over.
Maybe this is just the theater people equivalent of fashion people going to a designer’s show wearing that designer’s clothes?

5. Kim Kardashian in Chain Ensemble
Finally, we have Kim Kardashian. Kim’s hard work in slimming down her post-baby body is evident in her Wes Gordon chain crop top and pencil skirt, but the girl needs to breathe.
