I never thought I’d see the day, but apparently, it has come – Lady Gaga has chosen to dress down and cover up!
Well, for once, at least. I’m so used to seeing her in outrageous and skin-revealing outfits that seeing her wear something that is actually WEARABLE came as a total shock.

The pop artist introduced Polaroid Grey Label products at the 2011 International Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas the other day.
She was appointed as the new creative director for the brand, hence the appearance. Wow, from singing to this? I can’t wait to see what’s next!
Anyway, check out what she wore to that event:

Save for the quirky headdress (which looks a lot like a black wedding veil), the outfit actually looks very in trend.
It’s a little on the Morticia Addams side (maybe because of the headdress), but definitely wearable. As a tribute to Lady Gaga’s refreshing look, I thought it might be interesting to recreate it with a two-piece ensemble.
Of course, the first key piece to grab would be a black maxi skirt. This velvet creation from Kimberly Ovitz is just the perfect choice.

But if that’s too pricey for you, you can always go for the classic LNA Column Long Skirt, which retails for only $99:

The next one to get is a well-fitting blazer or jacket. Here are two options for you – one for splurging, the other for the penny-wise; up to you which one to pick:
Helmut Lang Fold Jacket, $655 / T by Alexander Wang Back Cutout Blazer, $180
Last but not least, pick the right corset belt to complete Lady Gaga’s look. I found just this Kiki de Montparnasse poppy belt. Quite pricey, though, but it’s the best one I could find:

Once you’ve acquired all three, put them together and grab your sunnies and fabulous heels. Look in the mirror, and voila! You have an outfit that is pop cool and perfect for red carpet events!
