As a member of the royal family, Kate Middleton is expected to adhere to strict fashion rules and etiquette. But while bound by these strict royal dress codes, the Princess of Wales has consistently embodied elegance and wowed the world with her impeccable fashion choices.
Her summertime wardrobe, for instance, is always on point, comprised of flowy dresses in soft pastels and jewel tones. Whether attending royal events or watching her favorite tennis players from the stands at Wimbledon, Kate’s warm-weather staples never fail to impress.
Before we bid farewell to summer, let’s look at some of Kate Middleton’s best summer outfits of 2023, ranging from baby pink, mint green, and sky-blue pastels to bold red and bright green hues from some of her favorite designers.
1. Kate Middleton Is Lively in Lime Green Self-Portrait Midi Dress
Kate Middleton, who wishes to break traditions and be called by her first name, injected a jolt of color into Wimbledon’s Centre Court as she attended the Wimbledon 2023 singles final in a striking lime green midi dress from one of her go-to fashion labels, Self-Portrait.
The $615 bright green number, described as a “fresh breeze” that is “ideal for garden parties and al fresco lunches,” featured a tailored boucle top framed with short sleeves and belted at the waist for a flattering fit before flowing into a pleated chiffon midi skirt.

Elevating the royal look was her all-time favorite Pearl Cluster Earrings by London designer Cassandra Goad and the “Salamander” Torque Forget-Me-Not Bracelet by Halcyon Days. She also had on her sparkling Garrard and Co. engagement ring featuring a 12-carat oval Ceylon sapphire with 14 solitaire diamonds set in 18-karat white gold.
Kate wore another notable accessory, a bow pin on her left chest in dark green and purple colors, representing the All England Tennis and Croquet Club (AELTC), the venue for the Wimbledon Championships.
The Princess of Wales has been a patron of the club since 2016. As per an AELTC representative, the bow is “reserved for the club’s patron, president, committee of management, vice presidents and four members of their executive staff.”

2. Kate Middleton’s Pastel Blue Beulah London Maxi Dress
Kate Middleton looked the epitome of summer elegance in a pastel blue floral dress as she supported her husband, Prince William, at a charity polo match early last month.
Arriving at the Guards Polo Club in Windsor, the 41-year-old Royal turned heads in the delicate “Sonia” dress by Beulah London, founded by Lady Natasha Rufus Isaacs and Lavinia Brennan.
It was cut from light blue silk crepe de chine and boasted the British fashion brand’s classic silhouette, with modest blouson sleeves, mock neck, and ankle-length hem.
The white floral pattern on the bodice and skirt and the whimsical peacock prints along the sleeves gave the exquisite frock a dreamy look.

Adding minimalistic accessories to the already striking dress, Kate wore a pair of Lenique Louis Spine Hoop Earrings and a Sezane Stefanie Cuff.
She then styled her brown hair loose waves, cascading down her back, and rounded out the ensemble with the nude Camila Elphick “Lucia” slingback pumps and the cornflower blue Mulberry “Harlow” bag.

3. Kate Middleton’s ‘80s-Style Minty Fresh Balmain Blazer
Making her first appearance at this year’s Wimbledon Championships, the Princess of Wales, who helped curate the photographs in the photographic book Hold Still: A Portrait of Our Nation in 2020, donned a minty fresh ensemble composed of a Balmain blazer and a white dress.
Kate opted for an ‘80s-style double-breasted blazer from the French luxury fashion house founded by the King of French fashion, Pierre Balmain, in 1945.
Her retro-style double-breasted blazer came in dominant mint green and featured padded shoulders, exaggerated white lapels, and buttons.
Underneath the preppy blazer was a crisp white dress with a low v-neckline and an electric pleated skirt that fell above her ankles.

Kate had her brown tresses swept to the side and styled in gentle curls, allowing her to showcase her Shyla drop earrings, which featured a baroque pearl hanging from a chunky gold knot design.
She then added her favorite Sezane Stafanie Cuff, Garrard & Co. engagement ring, and All England Tennis Club bow to complete her outfit.

4. Kate Middleton Channels Understated Barbie in Beulah London Pastel Pink Dress
Embracing summer’s hottest fashion trend, Kate Middleton got dolled up in a pastel pink midi dress as she met with kids at reopening the Young V&A Museum in Bethnal Green, East London.
She chose an understated Barbie look, selecting a blush pink wool dress cut in a flattering fit-and-flare silhouette.
Hailing from the collection of one of her favorite British clothing brands, Beulah London, the feminine dress featured a short stand neckline, cropped puffy sleeves, charming front buttons for a classic look, and a belted waist for a figure-defining fit.
Championing sustainability, Kate previously wore the said dress back to the Wimbledon Championships in 2021.

Kate kept things elegant by forgoing any elaborate jewelry save for a pair of $4,650 Mappin & Webb Empress Diamond Carriage Earrings and her engagement ring for a hint of sparkle.
She also eschewed Barbie’s signature pink pumps in favor of classy white Jimmy Choo “Romy” pumps to perk up her summer pink dress.
Her lovely soft curls cascading down one shoulder and natural-looking makeup completed her chic warm-weather look.

5. Kate Middleton’s Summer Polka Dot Dress by Alessandra Rich
Summer is indeed the best time to wear polka dots. Kate Middleton gave the whimsical pattern her stamp of approval as she visited the opening of Hope Street, a residential community in Southampton, Hampshire, that supports women in the justice system and their children.
The former Duchess of Cambridge did not shy away from recycling her navy-blue Alessandra Rich polka dot midi dress from Wimbledon last year.
This perfect summer dress, cut from silk crepe, featured a fitted bodice with ruched short sleeves, a Peter Pan collar with a dainty bow, crystal front buttons, and a Y2K peplum that hugged the waist before flowing into a tea-length skirt.

Kate donned the same look from 2022, down to her black-and-white Alessandra Rich Fab slingback pumps and white Mulberry Amberley crossbody bag.
She, however, went bareneck and styled the dotted ensemble with a pair of Shyla Chunky Knot Baroque Pearl earrings and her engagement ring.
Beauty-wise, Kate wore subtle smokey eyeshadow and a hint of pale pink lipstick. She styled her shiny brown tresses in soft curls with a side parting.

A pair of Sezane heirloom dangling earrings in gold with black beads added some flair to the striking formal daywear.

For preppy summer attire, Catherine chose a black-and-white creation from one of her favorite contemporary luxury labels, Self-Portrait.
Her gorgeous ensemble featured a combination of a tailored metallic boucle jacket and a chiffon pleated midi skirt, creating an illusion of a two-piece outfit.
It was designed with crystal-embellished pockets, buttons, padded shoulders, and a tonal belt that helped highlight her slim waist.

Kate Middleton appeared to channel Audrey Hepburn’s character Eliza Doolittle in the 1964 musical comedy-drama movie My Fair Lady when she showed up in a black-and-white dress and a matching hat at the Order of the Garter Ceremony in June.
Marking her 15th time attending the event at Windsor Castle (after first appearing in 2008 as Prince Williams’ girlfriend), Kate donned a bespoke Alessandra Rich design that featured a sophisticated high neck, puff long sleeves, and a ruched waist that accentuated her slim frame.

When it came to her accessories, Kate continued with her outfit’s theme by sporting a bespoke black Philip Treacy hat designed with white flowers and feathers that featured the same polka dot theme of her dress.
She then coordinated things by carrying a $425 vanilla-colored Strathberry Multrees chain wallet and wearing Queen Elizabeth’s Four-Stranded Pearl bracelet and Princess Diana’s Collingwood Pearl and Diamond earrings.

9. Kate Middleton Steps in the Wild Side in Green Leopard Cefinn Maxi Shirt Dress
Since joining the royal family, Kate Middleton appears to have avoided wearing animal prints. But during a visit to the Riversley Park Children’s Centre in Nuneaton, England, the Princess of Wales took a risk and stepped on the wild side in a summery green dress with leopard prints.
Designed by London-based label Cefinn, the “Petra” maxi shirt dress was cut from silk with hero leopard pansy print all over. It also featured an elasticated back panel for an easy fit, a waist-cinching sash belt, and flattering darting.
