Harlow worked at Chick-fil-A inside the Georgia State University cafeteria to make ends meet in 2018. However, fate intervened when he met DJ Drama at Mean Street Studio, which led to his signing with Atlantic Records and Generation Now record label.

In a viral YouTube clip, Harlow, who had previously been a part of a remix of her song “Tap In,” approached Saweetie and introduced himself, “I’m Jack,” to which she responded with a playful “I know.”
