Kerry Washington ushered in spring with her floral gown from Elie Saab at the premiere of her new Hulu series, UnPrisoned.
She embodied the brand’s signature elegance and oozed feminine charm in her incredibly sheer gown with floral appliques in strategic places.

The Spring 2023 creation featured a low V-shaped neckline with lace accents, ruffled short sleeves, and a see-through base embroidered with multicolored flowers.
As for her beauty look, she let her tight curls frame her face and put on soft neutral makeup for that natural glow.

The Django Unchained actress accessorized with silver-and-teal tassel earrings, as well as a pair of silver metallic platform heels.
Washington shared a reel on her Instagram that gave us a peek at her shoes as she sashayed around the room to show off her look.

A New Favorite Father-Daughter Duo
Fresh from starring in the Netflix film The School of Good and Evil with Charlize Theron and Michelle Yeoh, Kerry Washington leads the cast of Hulu’s new comedy-drama series UnPrisoned.
According to the logline for the show, UnPrisoned follows the story of “a marriage and family therapist whose life is turned right-side-up when her father comes home from prison and moves in with her and her teenage son.”
It’s going to be a half-hour dramedy that centers around complicated relationships between “a father and an adult daughter,” as well as “grandfather and grandson.”
Kerry Washington plays Paige Alexander in the show, while 70-year-old Delroy Lindo plays her father, Edwin Alexander.

The 46-year-old style star couldn’t contain her excitement as she talked about her on-screen father. She told People that he has “always been one of [her] heroes” and that she admires him “so much.”
“I knew that whoever played this role was gonna have to be somebody who was incredibly talented and strong,” Washington said about the character played by Delroy Lindo.
She said that they wanted someone whom viewers “could believe could be a career criminal” but also someone with whom people couldn’t help but fall in love. “And I just felt like Delroy had all those qualities.”
“He’s so lovable, he’s so strong, he’s so vulnerable, he’s so smart – he’s everything,” Washington continued to gush about her co-star.

Scandal’s Olivia Pope also shared that it was an exciting moment when Lindo finally agreed to join the cast. “I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, we have a show.’ If Delroy is gonna do this, then we might actually have a show.”
Profoundly Affirming
Delroy Lindo, renowned for his work in films like Malcolm X and Gone in 60 Seconds, was incredibly grateful for the opportunity to showcase his talents again.
He shared his perspective with People: “It’s profoundly affirming, and I say that not from an ego point of view, from a human point of view, from a creative point of view, that my work as an actor could resonate out into the community, could resonate out into the world and touch and impact somebody like Kerry, who would then say, ‘Come do this with me.’ [It] means the world.”

Playing All Those Keys on the Piano
While Kerry Washington’s favorite part was definitely getting to work with Delroy Lindo in UnPrisoned, that wasn’t the only appealing aspect of the show.
Washington told People, “You know, I really love that the show’s a dramedy, ‘cause I love being able to play all those keys on the piano.”

“You know, I do love doing dramatic work. Obviously I’m trained to do that, but one of the most fun weeks of my life was hosting SNL,” she continued. “So to be able to do it all in one character is really, really, such a privilege.”
